** Your NEA102 build **

I've replaced basically every part on my rifle besides the BCG and barrel.

I will need to replace the barrel soon too because it has terrible consistency with heat. Cold bore is like 2 MOA high. Then it shoots MOA.

The stock handguard and barrel nut weigh 2lbs heavier than they should. Even cheapo handguards are 14oz MAX.

Don't even get me started on the included trigger or stock.

I look forward to being able to outfit my macdef SLR the way I want it from the start. They have an excellent business model. Pump out uppers + lowers as fast as they can, distribute them to dealers all over the country, and take advantage of the surplus of AR15 parts on the market. Everyone gets their gun sooner, with parts they actually want, with nothing gone to waste. Macdef focuses on the unique product they bring to the market, the NR upper and lower, nothing else.

This is a plan I detailed in many threads in the SFRC forum. Every time I did the thread just ended up locked and ignored.

Several months after launch, BCL only has guns in the hands of ~70 some odd people, and are a month behind schedule. Who knew there would be so much overhead in making complete guns...

All of this plus the "pay full price up front" scheme is the reason why I haven't bought a 102. If they ever wise up and offer stripped receiver sets I'll buy it from them. But since that doesn't seem to be happening I'll give my money to the "other" guy who actually has it figured out.

new Precision Armament brake
new Raptor charging handle
new Houge grip
new Magpul CTR stock
new Odin Works handguard
new Timney trigger
new JP Enterprises low mass bcg
new JP Enterprises bolt
new
X-Caliber barrel .338 federal
new SLR gas tube
new SLR adjustable gas block
Vortex Viper PST 4-16x50
Aero Precision scope mount

I am like Mike the bike, just waiting for my BCL102 to show up so I can throw everything away other than the upper and lower receiver, I am hoping it shows up before Christmas, so I can write it off as a dependent

Any particular things to look for when looking for barrel and bcg? Just not sure what's interchangeable. They're the only parts I haven't replaced yet.

Which Odinworks forend did you get?

Just got my new bolt from Brownells. I think it might be defective. The bolt doesnt drop free... LoL and there is no machine marks either.... Hahahhaha

The JP enhanced .308 extractor is also super nice.

Now the wait begins for the IOP and I still need to make up my mind on a new barrel

What did you go with? I went with the Brownells branded nitrided bcg and it was pretty stiff out of the package.

Yup got the brownells one as well. I wonder who makes it ? looks exactly like the Aero precision one I find.

For the price it actually blew me away how nice it is... NEA should just get those instead of making POS ones lol...

That is outrageous... how do you know it was actually made by a machine then?... I say toss it, it can't be trusted... :p

Hopefully the gen 2 rifles will be better than the first batch and drop free bolt heads will be a thing of the past...

You never know maybe I bought all this crap for nothing... LoL.
