I've replaced basically every part on my rifle besides the BCG and barrel.
I will need to replace the barrel soon too because it has terrible consistency with heat. Cold bore is like 2 MOA high. Then it shoots MOA.
The stock handguard and barrel nut weigh 2lbs heavier than they should. Even cheapo handguards are 14oz MAX.
Don't even get me started on the included trigger or stock.
I look forward to being able to outfit my macdef SLR the way I want it from the start. They have an excellent business model. Pump out uppers + lowers as fast as they can, distribute them to dealers all over the country, and take advantage of the surplus of AR15 parts on the market. Everyone gets their gun sooner, with parts they actually want, with nothing gone to waste. Macdef focuses on the unique product they bring to the market, the NR upper and lower, nothing else.
This is a plan I detailed in many threads in the SFRC forum. Every time I did the thread just ended up locked and ignored.
Several months after launch, BCL only has guns in the hands of ~70 some odd people, and are a month behind schedule. Who knew there would be so much overhead in making complete guns...
