This is a sign that they are clueless on how to take back there city from the gangs who now own the city lock stock and barrel if they are going to target two sport shooters as a bad influence they are less than useless.LETS build a fence around Toronto before the cesspool spreads to the rest of Canada.

I'll send an e-mail, but just a piece of advice, post this on some american forums and watch 50,000 e-mails flood his inbox. Those guys down south are bloody hyenas when it comes to this kind of stuff and they're very effective.
 
Just got a e-mail from the CSSA; the decision has been reversed. The self righteous turd must have been overwhelmed by e-mails!

Dear Mr Fusco,

I wish to express my outrage at the banning of the Sporting Rifle Athlete Ambassadors from participation on stage at the World Record Camp Games event. These exemplary young people are exactly the positive, responsible role-models that are lacking in many Toronto communities. To publically pillory and make them feel unworthy and guilty, is pure small town grand-standing. You and your "Directive" have it exactly backwards with regard to how to move forward from the current situation.

There can be no solution to gun violence without acknowledging the distinction between responsible legal firearm owners, and the lawless parasites that terrorize neighborhoods with illegal handguns. The marginalizing of dedicated athletes fuels anger and misunderstanding and, in your own words " We realize that gun violence has nothing to do with the sport of Sporting Rifle or any of your Athletes and that your sport promotes the safe and responsible use of rifles." And yet you capitulate to those NIMBY's that would exploit the spirit of the Ontario Summer Games by advancing their dangerously divisive myth that ALL people who legally possess a target rifle are potential killers. To ban young athletes from a stage and think you are doing something positive, is a ridiculous response and of no help in solving the issue.

What got this reversed, in part, was the fact that kids were being unfairly treated.

If it was adults being screwed around, I suspect the outcome would not have been as good.

It goes, once again, to show the vital importance of getting the next generation engaged in shooting sports and knowledge of firearms.

They have reversed their decision based on the backlash they have received. To everyone who wrote emails, nice work! Matt Gurney of the National Post wrote an excellent article on this subject as well you can read it here

This needs to be pursued in civil and potentially criminal court.

The segregation are removal of individual rights is only reserved for convicted criminal in our appointed court systems.

Can we get some legal support on this? The originators of the atrocity need to be suspended pending a public inquiry into potential legal action.

Which ever legal firm takes this on will get all the free press they have ever wanted.

A simple reversal of this decision is not going to cut it when these young athletes rights were so cruelly violated.
 
At 12:23 ADT, I sent the following email to mfusco:

"Mr. Fusco,

I have just read the feebly empty and apologetic letter you sent regarding Sporting Rifle Athlete Ambassadors not being allowed on stage at the World Record Camp Games event. The Ontario Summer Games 2012 group has obviously been influenced by your weasel Premier who has historically refused to associate criminal use of firearms with his incompetence as a Provincial leader, inferring once again that all reference or acknowledgement of firearms is a poison encroaching into the minds of the citizens.

Shame on you and all the hacks who sit and take this crap from Premier McGuinty and his henchmen!"

At 6:19PM ADT, I received the recant from Cathy Vincelli.

I guess people DO read their emails! I applaud the quick reversal on a politically motivated negative policy decision.
