The AK- SKS kit ( little update post 440 2015-03-19)( less ABS more wood and metal)

took out the sks this afternoon , after 7 shot i found the weakness of the 3dprinted trunnion , the upper parts holding the spring broke , i still shot probably 300-400 round with the ABS parts ^^,

when i got my new hotend for the printer and one of my wood stock i will print another one ,

 
look like i got screwed by canada post again , that like 3 time in the last year that they lost my package and never show up , and this time the tracking number show delivered at the communal mailbox and nothings ..... look like a total fail again ...

That blows big time. I'm assuming you ordered from Ironwood Designs?
 
Just wanted to say I`ve been following this fine project of yours ,very interesting and tres awesome !!

Things are comming along nicely ,although too darn bad about your stock/s taking so long to arrive to you ,and a real bugger about CP losing your packages........very very frustrating no doubt.

Keep up the great work on this great project !

With all the difficulty encounter on this project it just push me more to continue it , success sometimes is hard to obtain and if you stop a the first difficulty you will never accomplis somethings

it work with plastic parts so it should work better in metal ^^ i hope those wood stock gonna show up very soo , for the tactical guys look like i got the tactical handguard marstar had in demo not sure if it going to work but i will know it
 
i got some new material to add in this thread , still waiitng for my wood stock , but got the guadrail that marstar had in demo , my first impression are that i need some light adjustment for my dessign and 2 shim to properly be able to use this quad rail with the rail on top you can still see the front sight , that a good thing finally .

bought some nylon 645 for my next trunnion and if had enough next frame will be reprinted in that too at 20$ a pound that not cheap when i pay 20$ for a 1kg of ABS,

i should get the part to be able to run my printer tomorrow ,

when the prototyping in plastic is done , all part will be metal , you will be able to drop any romanian Ak furniture on it , without any trouble


thing move slowly but that what happen when the thing you need are not in stock or not in this country

if we look at the beginning of this thread you can see that we are now very far away of the beginning , it more than just speaking about and idea
