Help with sight mount

Hello all, I'm after some advice and help re an Enfield that I recemtly picked up. If you look at the picture you will see that it appears to have been drilled and tapped for scope mounts. There are two holes to the left and one to the right.
Has anybody seen this before? Would it be possible to mount a sight to the weapon using these holes and any suggestions as to what mount?

Thanks...

I think it's probably drilled for a weaver T01 base. I had a #4 sporter at one point with the same hole configuration and it used a weaver base.

Below is my Longbranch 1944 No 4 Mk1* that I picked up a while back. In nice shape with a beautiful stock. Metal under the wood still has the green paint on it. Only thing that puzzles me is the absence of C broadarrow marks or lack there of. I couldn't locate any on the metal from where I looked...not sure where they're exactly supposed to be. I did notice one on the bottom wrist of the stock and one on the underside foreend but those are the only markings on the outside I could locate. There is also a broad arrow on the inside of the end hand guard. Anyone know what the asterisk means on the top of the receiver? have heard it indicates rust in the barrel or throat...barrel seems ok to me..has the usual frosted bore but nothing horrible and she still shoots very accurately.

Thanks!

Nice rifle and photo's!

That star over the receiver is an inspectors mark to signify a less then perfect bore with some rust but still serviceable during inspection, if it was bad enough to effect use they would just swap out the barrel with a new one, you often see Lee Enfield's and P14's with it.

Rob, any idea where I can get hold of one of these in Canada? Midway USA seem to be the only people I can find that sell them and they will not ship to Canada............

Inherited 2 no.1 m3 rifles from my father without magazine's or bolts replaced the bolts but having a hard time finding magazine s for them any help would be greatly appreciated.

Finally got my first 303... a Long Branch sporter from a fellow SK CGNer:) Got a little crush going...not gonna lie... It is technically my son's Christmas present, but he might not get it lol

A friend of mine purchased this "what I believe" to be a mk 1 pattern 3?? FTR cut down for 15 dollars??

I repaired a couple old mausers he had and in payment he gave it to me.

Now I would like to de sporter this rifle, ebay has stock sets for mk 4 rifles and the rear ladder sights are different and thus the stock sets look different.

Where can I find upper and lower stock set replacements ??

Thankyou

I have a SMLE that is only stamped BSACo on the right buttsocket. It has BSA stacked rifles stamp on barrel and bolt handle.Right side of barrel marked with a large U with broad arrow inside.Left side of barrel marked 303 Crown over BM and Nitro Proof.Has a charger bridge and not cut for mag cutoff. All # match.
Would this be a commercial rifle?

BEFORE!!!

After, she needs a few parts and the forestock needs a few hours more fitting and slimming time aswell as a generous oiling of the whole creature......But yes little Billy it IS a Christmas MIRACLE!!

Really starting to love this FTR 1917 smle...Shes definately muckin out to be a looker!

It's nice to see the restoration of a great rifle by someone that is obviously enjoying the fun of saving one of these treasures. I do believe that I have a beat up old rear swivel band to replace your elastic, PM me your address and it's yours.
