wow went by my local ct ......nothing in stock in 22
took last 3 boxes of 223 and last box of slugs ,,,yikes
i stocked up on 22 a few years ago but i am starting to make a dent
this is concerning

How can it change daily? You know your cost and what your margins are.
Instock vs out of stock, yes I totally understand stuff goes out the door.
Prices shouldn't, yes our dollar goes up and down but I don't see other stores prices going up and down daily.

I would imagine they use multiple suppliers.

And I would think those suppliers most probably charge different prices for the same product.

So, if only one supplier has what they're looking to stock and that supplier is selling it for more than usual, the P&D would need to charge more to make a margin.

Next time you're there, wanna tell them to send some over to the Vaughan location?

:)

You could do like I did. Convince(trick) your wife into thinking she wants to go to Niagara falls. And that it was her idea to drop in at the outlet mall.....
We went there from Burlington.

at least they stand a chance at having things where you are. anywhere within 2 hours of toronto (if not 3-4) you dont stand any chance at all.

and at least we have the internet. could you imagine getting ammo before we could just order it online with the current firearm culture in canada.

Was in Red Deer yesterday and as always, stopped at Wolverine Gun and Tackle in Red Deer had tonnes of 22lr in various quantities shapes and sizes. they tend to be a bit more expensive but if you're in the area, they had winchester 333, thunderboltls, Sellier & Bellot (sp?), vipers, some cci low velocity and even a bunch of 22 short.
No 22 wmr but lots of 17 hmr.

I'm around 8k of stock with two shooters in the household, so I didn't buy any 22 this time. I did grab another case of Federal 7.62x39 as well as some hunting rounds in the same.

As noted we use multiple suppliers and often sell out of one and another arrives. Also we buy some in US $ and when we pay the bill we are using the most recently purchased US $'s. We were also promised one price but when it was shipped and invoiced the price changed with the caveat "if you don't want to pay the higher price then refuse it or send it back as lots of other dealers are waiting in line to by it at any price". We also react to local competitors who decide to sell it lower than our regular mark up would allow so depending on the competitor or the volume of product involved we might have to take a lower mark up to remain competitive. As you can see it is way more involved than just buying it and deciding on our mark up ahead of time. Sometimes we have existing inventory on a particular product so we have to blend the prices. Phil.

Not the best deal out there but better than $40 a brick. The M22 at cabelas for $74.99 limit of 2 but FREE SHIPPING over $99.I placed an order for the 2 so all in$167.98 and I don't have to waste any gas looking for ammo.Free shipping is good for 3 days I think. At least my 1022 and 22/45 pistol love the stuff. That AE I bought back in february cycled well today in same.

sounds like you go to a lot of effort to get 22 ammo for your customers. some experts on here perhaps don `t see it that way.

Retailers are in a no win situation.

Don't bring it in, customers are pissed the shelves are empty.

Bring it in customers are pissed at the price.

I'm just happy to find a store with any. I usually pick up 2 bricks even if $40/$50 cause its cheap entertainment.

It's a constant effort mostly by Dianne who is always on the phone or computer trying to find ammo (.22) at the best volume and price. Sometimes that tough attitude that a few folks complain about Dianne works on our distributors(and customer's behalf} in getting the most product at the current best price. We were packed on Friday and Saturday in spite of a local gun show and auction going on. I could hardly keep the .22 shelves filled and currently we have no limit on the volume customers can buy. To be honest most customers are reasonable and only by a few bricks at a time. When I was at a local big box store last week they had zero .22 out for sale. Go figure. Also we always pay our bills so that might held a little. Phil.

Funny how remington seems to get imported. However I havent seen any AE or CCI in awhile other than P&D.
$40 a 400 brick must be the new normal price.
I remember it being under $20
Someone must be making good money. If it isnt local stores, then its our importers!
