NR Rifle Battle ACR vs XCR

Prediction : Modern Varminter will render ACR's and XCR's extinct.

....enh......My thoughts are that the price will be high enough on the MV that XCR's and ACR's will still be around

If they do an AK lower for the 7.62x39 and it is competitively priced with other AR's on the market with AK lower I am in

I think ATRS has already said they would avoid 7.63x39 like an especially belligerent case of herpes.

ATRS is all about precision. You tell us why they should chase such a niche market? How many people will pay 3k for a corrosive lead slinger?
3k? I would hope that it would have been been competitive with other makes and models

For example the Bushmaster ACR's ($2175) arms east was just selling new with a NR conversion on top of the rifle bringing it in at the $2700 range. I would have thought a rifle using more commonly available AR-15 parts would come in at a lower price point, my mistake

I know a number of people looking for a good to high quality NR 7.62x39 semiautomatic rifle and currently the options suck for better lack of words. I'd buy a valmet and even pay the stupid ask on it, but they just don't exist for sale

The RPD is stuck awaiting the RCMP.

Even some big bore hunting options would be nice if they keep the weight down to 7 lbs or so, 450 Bushmaster, 458 SOCOM, 50 Beowulf. We as Canadians have been denied all these things far too long with our restrictive Firearms ACT, The Bushmaster ACR has opened the door provided you are willing to pay a gunsmith to do the conversions. Another option for Canadians with caliber conversions readily available will be a huge step forward.

i dont think so if it like the MH it ways too much expensive so only an handful of people can buy one ...

when i started to look around for a NR black rifle , ammo cost was a big factor , 7.62x39mm is cheap and you can find some decent round from hornady it a 300 yard cartridge not everybody want to only punch one hole in paper ... ,

Not at $4000+, I've shot the MH and while it is a nice rifle I wouldn't pay what they're asking. The one I spent an afternoon with was over $5000 including tax. Nice but not that nice.

I'd like some of whatever it is you're smoking.
How and why would they make a miniature version of the $4000+ MH but price it in the $1500-$2000 range. Never going to happen. Take the price of an ATRS AR, the price of the Modern Hunter, split the difference and that will be the price is my guess.

were any reasons given as to why to stay out of a market that remains vastly untapped?

I'm going to guess it's because x39 is a crap cartridge that shoots just as good out of a $180 SKS as it does from a $3000 rifle. That and the FACT that x39 feeds like crap from AR mags and there is too high of a risk the rifle would be a jam-o-matic.
Time to look at the superior in every way 300 Blackout for your modern black rifle needs.

Xcr 10 round pistol mags in 7.62x39 ran great for me in an AR and an XCR.

Many people are not so lucky and if we ever get our mag limit restriction removed try it with a standard capacity magazine. There is a reason the AK has a curved magazine and it's not just so we can call it a banana mag.

I did say AK mag lower

It may be crap but so is 223/5.56 when it really comes down to it. I wonder which cartridge and rifles chambered for it is more prominent in todays world, Has the 556 overtaken the x39 AK?

1600 foot pounds of energy is certainly not anything to laugh at
i love the 762x39, love the sound it makes when it connects with a gong, but then I rarely ever shoot past 200 yards.
