M14s 2500rd Review and a DIY Mod-Stock walk through

I started with the NEA adapter but wasn't happy with the fit and finish of the adapter so I welded some 8mm aluminum blocks and then milled down to the shape I was happy with. The plate I bolted it to the stock with is also aluminum with a nutcert and I used an automotive epoxy to hold the block and the adapter in place along with a 1/4" bolt. I also welded up some 2mm aluminum to being the bottom of the adapter to the trigger guard to get rid of the gap that I didn't care for as well, it is open on the bottom so I can open the guard with a tool without any problems to drop out the trigger assembly. I then prepped the stock, wet sanded down to 1000grit and used a plastic adhesion promoter and sprayed it with plastidip do give it a rubberized coating. It is pretty grippy

I used an automotive structural adhesive along with a 1/4" bolt to join the adapter to the stock and sanded the seam smooth between the two and prepped and painted the stock so it would appear seamless. I wanted it to appear as a single piece like it was moulded that way and not a modified stock. Also thanks to everyone who appreciates it for what it is.

Glad to see everyone's Mods coming to life, and I must say I love the improvements some people have made to the design!

Ya, I agree, this has been one of my favorite threads in a long while.
Keep the creativity flowing fellas. Crafting stuff to make yer rifle "yours" has always been a super fun hobby.

I have around 300 rounds through it since the mod with no issues and really like it .
I added another piece to my 3/4 inch cheek riser today and it now works better with my Eotech . I found that before it was a bit of a chin weld using just the 3/4 inch riser.
The more I use this rifle the more I like it. I would like to get one of H2O mans trigger shoes for it someday .

How did you add that other riser?? I need another 3/4 in or so more on mine and that looks like it will do the trick.

On a side note, got mine ready for hunting season. Just waiting for the 10 rounder I just picked up on the EE and she's GTG.
