ATRS Modern hunter specs, pics and range reports

Some of us have paid cery close to $5000 bud.
Yea... But that's based on customization. Without knowing what gunguy paid(although the subsequent post does imply it), you can't assume his was also a 5k build...

Yea they shipped mine with no mag. When I ordered my MH it was supposed to come with 1 mag and use gen3 pmags. Stuff happens though (the mag issues) and overall I'm very happy with ATRS and will gladly pay another 5,000 for a MV.
Interesting... Did they credit an amount for the missing magazines? I ordered mine with mags as well, but have 4 XCR-M mags sitting on so I'd be able to use it if delivered without. However, in the case it comes without are you just on hold until ATRS can send out their new mags or do they credit you back some $ ?

I found some gen2 pmags so I'll be good to go. Not worried about a magazine credit. My build sheet just had the 1 mag in it. The gun was done early otherwise I would of already had some mags ready.

Must be nice.... Il give u 100 bucks a piece for your gen 2 Pmags. ... for the average person buying a MH one mag to allow functionally would be great ☺

IF we had mags to supply would you not think we would???????
We are sitting literally on thousands of mags that we brought in and paid for to go with these rifles. We would prefer to keep them here however rather than to supply a rifle that the mags do not work in. I have no clue what we are going to do with $75000.00 worth of AR10 mags that are useless.

It seems to me you are questioning our business ethic with some of your comments.

SO just to ensure we are all on the same page.
We contact the client when the rifle is completed, we advise them that we do not have mags and which of our competitors are most likely to have mags. We could buy them all at full retail them from a competitor and then upcharge, but DON"T.
We credit back the value of the mag or mags ordered as we have found most people get testy when they are charged for stuff they don't get.

I think we have been VERY upfront with the challenges we have encountered and given guys fair warning on anything that they can do to help themselves solve a problem. :HR:

Not questioning your business ethics at all actually. .. I think you guys are doing a fine job considering all the obstacles you have come across, in my opinion it just seems weird to buy such a high end firearm and to have it show up unusable... you know xcrm mags work .. I would think you would ship it with one of those. But if you are crediting people for the mag that was supposed to come with the rifle then it evens out ... still a bit of an inconvenience having to shop around to find one . But I guess its not bad as buying thousands of mags and having them not work!

Not only have we got a TON of XCR-M mags on BACK ORDER, which makes shipping them difficult to say the least. The supplier of the XCR-M mags is unable to tell us even when we might see the XCR-M mags we have on order, which is also frustrating for everyone.

So we have also invested a ton of $$ to make our own mags for this rifle and the XCR-Ms in order to solve the back order status of XCR-M mags.
I am not sure how much more anyone could do to solve a problem like this. No-one else has stepped up to making mags that are compatible with the older AR10s, XCR-Ms and our rifles.

If anyone is in desperate need of a single mag, i have a few xcrm pistol mags, I am only offering this so people can use their rifle, not add to their collection of mags.
I'll be switching over to atrs mags once they are on the shelves.

hello, I'm planning to sell my DTA SRS to build an ATRS Modern Hunter. I want a make it light as possible. can you show me some of yours with the exact weight ? please

Is that in their "super performance line "? I don't have time to do up a load for hunting season and they are closing my local range as well ( fricken Fracken !!! ). Has any one tried Federal's higher end hunting shells ?

I made sure I had some gen 2 pmags and some xcr-m ones before I picked mine up. The mag issue has been known for some time now. The earlier posters complaining should have known this and made arrangements. IMHO.

I've been trying to buy some Gen 2 mags for almost 7 months now.. ever since we found out gen 3 won't work. I should get my MH in a month or two and I'm magless. If anyone wants to sell me a gen 2 mag pm me... Il pay a really good price... I almost had one yesterday. .. almost

So I see in the MV thread enough people have experienced light primer strikes that you've come to the conclusion it's the trigger pack being a lighter spring for accuracy. Is there a replacement spring we could opt for because for me, and from the direction of the project, I bought this non-restricted so that I didn't have to be confined to a bench on a range and use it as a modern "hunter", and I'm sure not confident hunting with it, since so far one out of four brands of ammo hasn't had a light strike. Cycling action and making sure it closes hard enough on next round won't be conducive to a successful hunt. I'd love a 5-7lb trigger if it meant I could actually fire whatever ammo. Would seem like a good option as some have built theirs as light as possible for hunting, other for accuracy and target shooting. Kind of stuck with low consequence coyote hunts and target shooting with this trigger.

I think you need to lube up your gun a little bit...

Have everything quiet in the house and pull back MH or any ar 15 with a charging handle and release. Pay attention to the sound and think if you want to be doing that as whatever deer or elk or moose is standing staring in your direction wondering if there's something there. CLANG!
Or gently let it forward to not spook anything, it's not going to seat if you hold it all the way to front to prevent noise.

Mine did this when I first got it, when properly lubed I can gently let it forward and the bolt will still seat and lock in the lugs.

That's the suggested solution to ammo not firing in the bush? Cycle action until one fires? I've light striked 3-4 in a row a couple times. Then change magazine? If that's the scenario I won't be taking this gun hunting but I doubt I'll have to settle for that from a small custom gun maker. I'd like to at least hear from Rick if a cheap spring switch is possible first.
