7.62x39 Bushmaster ACR

If you want an NR ACR for run and gun, get a Herron barrel with integral flash hider and a light or M4 contour (just like stock barrel) barrel. I recall some pictures of one on the forum a while ago.

The NR ACR's I've seen all had medium or heavier 18.6" barrel (plus muzzle device) installed. Too heavy and long for run and gun.
 
Got my package from Brownells, Time to replace the horrible stock trigger... And just got an email from Numrich, They cancelled my Order... WTF !!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Lol, I was replying to one20's comment where you're in a WROL scenario, how many rifles do you plan to carry?
I'll take a quality AR and as much ammo as I can carry. When the world goes down the drain you won't be sitting in you living room watching tv in the afternoon and sleeping in your own bed every night deciding which rifle to take with you when you go looking for supplies the next day.

You can order parts for the ACR. There just aren't any shops that stock anything.
ATR makes a nice rifle but I wasn't impressed with them enough to justify the price and the reliability issues I've seen and mediocre accuracy left me wanting more. I'm sure they're capable of better accuracy than I've seen since I've never played with one with match grade ammo or properly developed handloads.
XCR and precision accuracy don't go together. You want an accuracy guarantee? You better look somewhere else.

Is it that bad? My trigger doesn't feel horrible, in fact, better than my Colt LE6920 (which isn't really saying much) Did I just get lucky?

I find my stock trigger not too bad, it's gritty and threes a hang up and it breaks a hair after the hang up so it actually feels like a 2 stage, but it takes a whole lot of focus to let off a good shot. I'm not that good with it

a guarantee with an xcr... thats like my boss asking me for a guarantee that I wont quit my job... AHAHHAHAH LOL... sigh... no

Well Im used to my Tav-D in my Tavor and I had G2S triggers in my AR's. So anything above 3lbs sucks for me lol...

Found a used PRS stock on the ACR forum, so I'm back in business for my build... and I saved 80$ compared to what Numrich was charging. works out great in teh end.
 
Same here re:trigger. I've ruined myself after using a Geisselle 2x stage, the ACR single stage feels like sludge.

Especially for a DMR build in your case DILLIGAF, 2x stage is the way to go.

Lol, gonna pull into the petro-can to top off the tank of your pickup? WROL= total breakdown of society. So no police, no fuel for your vehicle, no safeway to go pick up steaks for dinner, no nat gas to heat your home, no runnng water, no gun stores to go buy ammo and parts. But ya, just drive around with your two or three rifles just in case a battery goes dead in one of your optics. Even on a horse you won't be carrying more than two and that wouldn't exactly be practical.
I don't understand why people feel their rifles can't be trusted, maybe too many ex XCR-L owners out there :stirthepot2:

As much as I love my ACR I don't consider it my "go to" rifle. It's just not the do everything rifle my AR's are.

not my problem you didnt prep and have no place to go be safe away from the vermin

It is just fact, even top brand AR's have problems. I have had less overall issues with other brands/types of rifles
As much as I love my ACR I don't consider it my "go to" rifle. It's just not the do everything rifle my AR's are.

I have six months worth of supplies stocked at my place including fresh water and I live in the middle of nowhere. I'm ready :p

Heck, I could probably live a couple weeks just off my belly fat, lol ;)
 
can it go lighter?

The Super ACR trigger I have seen is completely straight and I did not like it, are there other options yet for the ACR?

I shot my XCR-L this past Tues with 55 Vmax factory Hornady from 100m checking zero(after re barreling from 6.8 back to .223 and mounting a PST 4-16) and was 1 1/2" on my 3 shots to validate zero.

What more would one expect out of a stock semi auto military fire arm?

DILLIGAF I like the high power, 4-16 with a Reflex on a 45 Picatinny it is an easy cheek weld transition from scope to reflex red dot with just a twist of the wrist.

Try a couple of five round groups and report back.

And yes, if you've ever owned a higher end ar, you will expect a lot more than putting three rounds into 1.5 moa one time, lol !
Also the xcr is hardly a military firearm, that would be quite a train wreck...

You do have a point on the price but you aren't considering the Canadian fear tax added to it.... I just measured the group with a metal machinist rule and all three shots were inside 1 5/8" so I was off an 1/8".

It shoots as good as my plain jane AR.
