Feel free to buy it if its such a great deal?

I just saw one on the EE the week before for $750 and it was in exc cond but I was too late on the gun. They were $800 brand new if you got em on sale so I am not going to jump on the first beat up gun for 1150.. reload supplies included or not. I also sell a lot of guns, but I don't ask above retail for them, even when they are new in the box.

I have no use for a 416 and I don't buy guns just to flip them. Good luck in your search.
 
As the rifles that I carry on a day to day basis for bear protection of my self and my clients must be in the best working condition, they are cleaned every time they are used. They are used not abused. A working rifle is a tool so it does get bumped and a mark here and there. But they are accurate and go bang every time the trigger is pulled. Some of my rifles get carried more than others the .416 is not used enough to warrant keeping so it is for sale. I don't sell beat up guns.

Good post pounder some of us use our rifles and in the course of doing so they do get an odd bump or ding, can't be helped.

I enthusiastically confirm the condition of the rifle in question, I know how his guns are maintained, and I endorse Pounder's reputation as an honest broker.

lol. I have no idea how this became about one guy's gun for sale. Maybe ask BearKilr? No offense to him or his gun. I am quite sure it is in 100% working condition. I am looking for a mint condition gun to add to the collection so a working gun with bumps and bruises just doesnt apply.

Your post insinuated that "pounders" 416 was an overpriced beater. You could've just stated you weren't interested in that particular one and left it at that, but you didn't.

Again, good luck in your search for a discontinued and desirable gun at 2010 prices.

But I do think its overpriced. And I do think its beat up more than I would like (looking for new ish). That doesnt mean pounder is a jerk or his guns dont function or he isnt a good guy. This is the end of the conversation with you.

price of a gun is what you are willing to pay or for what the seller is willing to let it go.

the older version are better than the new one.

i got mine for 599usd plus fees when the loonie was on par. there is not a chance it will go for that price .... i do not think i will sell it on kodiak price also...

But we are all buyers and sellers and most of us are smart enough to know enough not to post in a forum thread and make statements on an ee add if they are negative....... If the rifle is mentioned in a thread and it isn't in you wheelhouse a simple "It's not what I am looking for in that price range" is acceptable.... No need to go into detail and sabotage an ad...

As an active buyer and seller on this forum I have no problem if someone says they think im asking too much for a gun. I welcome it. A tad ironic that its OK for you to express your opinion, but others should not express theirs, unless it is in a way that is acceptable to your moral compass.

Edit: I have found a rifle to buy thanks all for the feedback and reviews on the gun.

Who the heck is "they" anyway? When I was younger, my friend and I did a bit of concert promoting on the side, and we did a tour with Randy "Elvis" Friskie...on the concert posters we wrote: "Come see the tribute to Elvis hailed as the world's best!"...we both said "he's the best", and therefore it was true that he'd been hailed as the world's best!:) Now the gun writers once called the .375 Holland & Holland the "King of .375s", but I haven't come across one gun writer call the Ruger .375 the "New King" except Clarke...and he's not a gun writer... What am I missing? :-D

I have no problem if they tell me..... I have an issue if they go out of their way to tell everyone else....

JOC proclaimed the H&H as the "QUEEN of the mid bores" but others may have used the term "king"

Therefore it is only fitting that the 375 Ruger should be deemed the "NEW KING"
