ATRS Modern hunter specs, pics and range reports

Yeah, I think people are confusing production runs for generations. Only 2 production runs have been shipped, and I am not aware of any changes made between them.

I know production run 3 or 4 will introduce JP silent buffer systems as being part of the base model.

Wasn't there a change in the charging handle from 1 to 2??

-J.

No but we have made an improvement to them of late that applies to all. The current production rifles will come with the rare earth magnet to assist in keeping the handle on the charge bar in the closed position. The first rifles delivered did not have this feature, but anyone who has a MH that does not have the magnet installed in the charge handle is welcome to return the handle so we can do the modification for them.

We did this upgrade as we had a few folks mention that there were some rifles that the charge handle did not stay in the closed position during firing of the rifle.
I am still at a loss as to how only some experienced this, but the cure is simple and painless.

I don't shoot my AR15 with the stock fully collapsed so I can't see myself shooting the MH fully collapsed. I'm gonna try sticking a Troy Battle Ax on and see how it works out.

So update, I installed a Battle Ax and I can pull the charge handle back fully with the stock in the most collapsed position without obstruction. Great success!

I have a PRI carbon fiber handguard and want to trade for a fortis 14. What do you think, good idea or better with the PRI ?

I asked about both, the PRI is warmer in winter, thin branches don't snag in the openings like they do in the Fortis, and the Fortis also has a metallic ting when it contacts branches in woods. I guess none of this matters if you're just road hunting in September for spikes.

I've got the jp and it is pretty loud. I just wrapped it in some of that camo vet-wrap for hunting season, problem solved.

Looking for info from the ATRS crew, I am looking to adopt the new JP Silent Captured buffer system in the future as well as swap out my Magpul PRS to a Milspec buffer tube so I can mount a LMT Sopmod. What will the best/most economical route to take and acomplish these tasks?

Also would like to know if the MV I ordered with an A2 collapsible stock will be coming with a Milspec buffer tube as well.

Canada post lady made me quite happy this morning...

Cant wait to bring it out!

For those with the JP silent buffer, is that buffer retaining screw needed still? I would hate to have to drill through my new buffer tube to put that screw in.

No the buffer retaining screw is NOT required, so do not drill your tube. We are putting short grub screws in place of the buffer retention screw just to fill the hole.

Rick, can you reply to this when you have a moment please. :)

A2 is a fixed stock and only comes in 1 tube type. The collapsible that is offered on the base model rifle will have a commercial tube.
IIRC the Sopmod uses a collapsible type buffer tube.

Ah, woops. looks like I meant collapsible, not "A2 collapsible".

So to change from a Magpul PRS to a Milspec collapsible type buffer tube to accommodate my Sopmod stock on my MH, what will I need for parts? Like I said I do plan to go with the JP system, as I understand it I need to change buffers and spring when changing to the Milspec collapsible style tube, so it would be beneficial to switch stocks and buffer systems at the same time correct?

Is it possible I can request a Milspec collapsible buffer tube in place of the commercial size on my MV so I do not have to monkey with it? Sopmods only come in Milspec and wish to put sopmods on both my MH and MV.
