Let's let them get here first and figure it out. Mag usage has nothing to do with classification, just like a gun using AR mags won't affect whether a gun is an AR variant or not.

It's a propietary gun designed to use its own mags. Some AK mags will work, others not. Just like one countries ak mags may or may not work in another counties ak design.

Maybe TI can pass on the request of having AK mag compatibility? It doesn't seem like it would take much work at all and would make sourcing mags much better for us.

Parkerized M14= Everyone thinks its a work of art

Parkerized Type 81= Everyone freaks out and says it looks cheap

:p

If it comes with the side folding stock I will buy one.

I don't know what people are expecting as far as appearances goes, fit and finish wise it looks like a typical Communist Bloc military firearm to me.

Except the $400 difference and us knowing how the 56s were finished.

Compared to 25 or 30 years ago though, a polished blue finish like that today would add considerably to the cost because the cost of Chinese production isn't was it was back then.

I'd prefer Parkerizing or some other kind of utilitarian finish on a gun like this anyway.

Might as well get products improvement suggestions out NOW so they know. Sell a half-assed finished version for less. At the $800 we were told. Am I the only one who noticed the price suddenly rose to a grand after the hype?

The one pictured is a prototype.

Prototype. Built seveal years ago as shown by the serial number.

TI has not quoted a price for 4 years. Canada Ammo, who does not yet have a version coming in, made a remark about what they thought price could be.

Big difference. Inflation over 4 years has affected all gun prices.

What???

Chinese producers originally thought grenade launchers were banned in Canada, as they were used to dealing with the US, where they are banned in certain states.

California and other states have a ban on GL, and cannot purchase some rifles such as the Yugo M59/66, and MAS 49/56 etc. as they feature a built in GL.

Hence, the Chinese belief. When they were told otherwise, they put the GL back on. So the T81 pictured has no GL on it. It will feature a ribbed GL.

One thing I like about it already as compared to the VZ58 is how a nonrestricted length barrel is only barely noticably longer than the standard design.

Not only does that look a whole lot better but the sights should be a bit more exact at a distance as well.

The sight picture is also interesting. It looks good, although I am not sure why there is a bar across the top portion.

Also, they don't know why the front sight was drifted so far over, that was done by the RCMP lab. It actually shoots center, so the RCMP just made it shoot off centre.
