I believe TI said the sight radius will be the same. Only the barrel gets a bit longer.

The LMG version has a longer sight radius.

I was talking about the VZ58, its good to know that there'll be no difference in sight radius with this gun.

Ah ok. Yeah the VZ's does get extended.

The LMG version of the 81 will have a post near the front of the barrel, different than the standard model.

How much do you expect to pay for a newly made rifle made for the Canadian market that cant really sell anywhere else? Ontop of that our low dollar? If you dont like it then dont buy it, im sure many, many others will buy them. Including me.

Also, they are only making 500 fixed stock. 500 folders.

That's it. Nothing more until future production, although it sounded like that won't be for a long time.

It has to, because 4.2 extra inches, unless you slide the front sight assembly back accordingly.

The front sight is at the gas block not the muzzle. The sight radius stays the same regardless of barrel length on the rifle.

The lmg has the front sight at the muzzle.

And the barrel is only an inch and a half longer on the nr vs r rifle version.

I was referring to the VZ58, between the unchanged sight radius and not having to add a whopping 4.2 inches length to a whippy pencil barrel, I'd say that that's an advantage for the NR Type 81.

What are advantages of a parkerized finish over a blued one? I know military guns are generally parkerized and they hold oil better.

I also spoke to a friend of mine who was in the Chinese militia, and he says the Type 81 he used was more of a parkerized finish, but the ones in pics seem to mostly be blued.

Parkerizing is also cheaper to do iirc.

I believe military T81s can take AK mags. This here I see is likely made with the same tooling for the export civilian sales which might be altered. Sri Lanken and Burmese rifles are commonly seen fitted with AK mags.
