Yes.

It will be on the non-restricted ones.

I posted a few pages back, the Chinese production team thought we were not allowed to own grenade launchers in Canada. They got this idea presumably because the U.S. Cannot have these items in some states, such as California etc. Yugo M59/66's and MAS 49/56's are banned there because they have a GL.

When they told the Chinese they were legal in Canada, the Chinese said they will add them.

So the TI Type 81 WILL have grenade launcher :)

Will be interesting to see if there is a gap between the front sight and the GL now. With the barrel being longer the GL should be longer to make up the extra gap.

It would be really interesting if we could get the dummy grenades and x39 blanks.

Yawn. Waiting for the CanAm version that will be $200-300 cheaper than TI pricing.

My opinion: Avoid the black rifle tax, of which TI is a pretty serious offender. YMMV.

I stopped at about page 5 as the stupid was beginning to give me a headache. I just tried going backwards only made it through 4 this time...I settled for a random scan of any good quotes.

The dollar, 1,000 unit production run, and a redesign of the receiver because the Type 81 used by the military is FA, means no way a $700 price tag is going to happen. How many M-305 have been made over the last ten years? How about CQ-A's? I swear some of you must be twelve years old to not realize that $1000 isn't unreasonable in the grand scheme of things. That or so stupid I marvel at how you can string together a few words to make a sentence...

I think I might just try to get in on the pre-order, I should be able to squirrel away $1k by the fall...Guess I'm back to a stripped lower for my new AR.

I agree 100%

I highly doubt CanAm's version will be $699....

It's not about black rifle tax... It's about the fact that they had to entirely tool up and redesign the rifle and have only 500 of each version produced...

No parts are surplus. All new built.

It's not cheap to have his rifle built, especially with how much is involved.

I'll wait until somebody I know gets one so that I can try it out for myself. I'm not really into 7.62x39, but if it's worth the loot, why not? Superficially though, it looks crapulous.

I don't completely agree with the above, but it's not an unfair statement. I think this is the first TI rifle import I can remember that I'm pretty sure I can afford...

That's true, I am just referring to the Type 81. After talking to them, it seems like they put a lot of work into this rifle. I don't think they are really ripping us, but I could be wrong.

I can't speak of their other products.

So this is a red rifle? I would class it with the other norinco stuff like the m305. Also it's an 80's rifle we took the wall down in the 80's. But I guess from a distance it looks like an AK variant to a rookie gun nut. I will let it slide just drop it in the same bowl as the rest with a big banana mag only holding 5 rounds what a tease.

China still has a wall. Still very much red.

That other wall was in Berlin.

I'm glad you will let this one slide haha ;)

It will be interesting to see how long the pre-order takes before it will sell out.

As far as I know, TI is not holding any back. Pre order will be for the full 500 of each type.

Do you guys prefer a side folder or fixed stock?

That's unfortunate, I thought it would come in at a lower price than a Cz.. After seeing those pictures I would expect a much much lower price as it's not even competitive with the Cz rifles. I'd say $500-600 tops. Unless the first shipment brings excellent reviews.

See first post. It's a prototype. It's had 4 years of wear and shooting, it's fit and finish is not that of the final product.

Only 500 being made of each for now.

With all due respect, I'm not sure where people are getting this $500 price tag from.

CZ's are running about $1300 now, so where anybody can find them for $500 is a mystery.

China had to tool up, do research, design, labor, materials, and produce only 1000 units, and people expect them to be $500? China may be cheap, but nothing's that cheap.
