1) what brand of AR did you use ?

2) how many rounds have you fired with the T97 so far ?

3) have you modified it in order to make it function properly ?

I was interested in T97 for its compact size, but trying some made me change my mind.

1- Diemaco C7 for many years.
2- 3-400 rounds
3- filed down the magwell a tiny bit for easier mag insertion.

Its non-restricted, easy to clean and maintain, reliable, accurate enough and you can throw it around or in the back of a pick up truck and you're not afraid to scratch it. Who cares if you can't reload as fast as an AR its a great plinker IMO.

There is a whole world of aftermarket cheap garbage for the SKS, all of which detract from it's actual appeal IMHO, SKS is best in OEM form.... and there is zero for the T81. As soon as people realize they can't hit anything with the irons, and there is no efficient way to mount optics, the love affair will be over.

I guess guns with iron sights never hit anyone during WW1, WW2, Vietnam, Korea or just about any conflit before the late 90s. ISIS? Talibans? Never managed to hit anyone with an AK either.

Come on, we are spoiled with optics but you can hit a man sized target at 300 yards easy with irons.

I can, I doubt 90% of the people buying these can hit a pie plate at 50m standing....

If you can not hit anything with iron sights (without optics, bench, rest and sitting on your bum) this is your problem, not a rifle problem. These (AK,SKS,VZ,CZ,T81 etc.) are military service rifles not target/bench/rest sitting on your bum rifles. In a real combat environment (for long period of time) the weakest point of your service weapon would be anything you mounted as extra (makes it heavier, bulky, hard to manipulate it fast and efficient or flat out will fail when exposed to the elements and the particular environment). These are NOT TACTICOOL rifles. If this is what you are after do not buy T81, you would be disappointed.
Cheers

The t97 didnt appeal to left handers or tall people its a true novelty item. T81 actually might have decent sights ans not ftf every mag so im thinking it will be a hit like the cz858

My type 97 had functioned just fine after a bit of work. I will admit it wasnt the most reliable when i first got it but now i havent had any failures in thousnads of rounds. They could be better out of the box but theybcertainly arent a novelty to me.

You must be the sharpest shooter on the forums...pretty arrogant to say 90% of people buying these can't hit a pie plate at 50m standing...this statistic is based on what information? Nobody is as good as your are? Ugh, I could probably shoot better than you, based solely on your need to tell us how bad everyone else is compared to you...sit down please.

Check the black rifles, red rifles, and battle rifles forum for some of the expert groups.... usually shot at 25-50m, shotgun type patterns... impressive stuff lol

While I've never shot a T97 and have no beef with them at all, I feel the need to point out that 400 rounds is hardly enough to gauge its reliability.

This has gone stupid....first it was sks vs type 81.....now it's T97 vs type 81 lol....we all know those T97s are jam-o-matic junk and not even close to same platform.......let's compare a 1911 to the type 81 next?

What is your point? You haven't the slightest clue how well anyone involved in this pre-order can shoot, yet you claim 90% of them can't shoot...I would bet 90% of members on this forum are pretty decent shots, and you're not even close to 90% as good as you think you are...

Ok so people's terrible shooting has what to do with this rifle?!?!?!

What does it have to do with anything? The guy shows up just to toot his own horn, and put everyone else down.

Would like to ask about something at least related to the topic of this forum, are there any known polymer mags that will fit the Type 81?

And are there ways to mount a magnified scope? i.e. not a red dot.

I'm sure you could get a side scope mount base (like the AK) installed. As it ejects brass to the right not up and to the right like the VZ58.

As for poly mags, none are available UNLESS people figure out how mod them to work

I'm sure after a little while some accessories and make do's will pop up. It looks like a really good solid platform. The rest will follow to one extent or the other.

I just have a good feeling that when we all get them and start running them, we are going to be very pleasantly surprised.

Every time I look at this forum I have to stop and stare at the front pictures, I can't wait for my rifle. The best thing is it's already paid for, so when they arrive it will be like Christmas
