Major build up...Hickory

Filling and Cheekpiece...Autobody filler with Kitty Hair

Final filling...marine Tex

Pin holes everywhere

Paint too thin to hide fillers at grip cap and heel of monte carlo

Scope mount...fits nice and holds zero but the height over the "ears" is not so pretty...good quality and great price from Canada's own Addley Precision

Lots of folks hate those weaver R&B but it's the most copied system out there, totally dependable, QD, cheap, rugged and flexible in application. Those are the four screw rings with screws on both sides. Big improvement over the older style for ease in mounting.

:agree: Besides the John Deere reliability of these rings, ye also get a decent touch of fuddliness to boot.

I like it, kinda reminds me a bit of my old 700 7 Mag in a scratched up Brown Precision stock but yours has more character....ie: more paint missing....:)...and I'm not running those classically ugly Weaver rings, but I have a drawer full of them should I get the urge.

How does seating depth work out in that chamber.?...:)

Nice weight for a Whelen, it'll keep you awake at the bench.

No need me to ad pictures......tavor...type 97 and any one of those disgusting bullpup style shotguns......absolutely hideous design.....runner up is anything with a thumbhole stock or a cheek riser

Looks good Wilbar, how does it shoot ?

Same as always with Federal Blue Box 180s...just over an inch...26years ago I used to shoot it every weekend with the old iron sights (1-1/2" to 2" groups)

Now with the scope I've shaved a bit off those sizes

I'll bet that Whelen in the original post will shoot! My 350mag can produce some ridiculously great groups

That rifle came to me years ago as a 7Mag for a fellow in BC. I did sand it a bit so looks worse now.

Haven't loaded for it yet. Working nights on a two week job. No life. :(

All I have for 35cal are 250gr C&C bullets (Speer & Hornady). Might be some 200s down there, but a certain fellow in the Yukon calls those varmint bullets and has shamed me into not using them. :) Ignition with the 250s should be eventful but still easier than the 375.

The Ugly 9.3 put many tons of game in the freezer, stopped charging bears, dazzled dancers from down South, and changed weather patterns.

It is has been researched by NASA, and is currently being prepared for a Mars expedition.

I dunno man ..

Back in the cowboy & indian days I'm bettin' the fighters of the day would have loved that tactical lever action. Adjustable LOP for saloon CQB ?

And that shotgun is right at home in Texas Chainsaw Massacre and Zombie defence situations. It happens man.
(what cracks me up on that SG is the front sight.... really, now what's that for with this setup ?)

There's a place for everything.... even ugly. (wait .... I might have said that to a girl in my high school days)
