**Huge CGN .264 Bullet Test Result** (lots of pics!)

Awesome Test !!

It confirm the great performance of the Lapua 155gr Mega (it will be my all-around bullet for my 6.5x55).
By the way...I found a little mistake in the Lapua Mega picture (top view shows the Norma 156gr RN instead of the Lapua Mega).

Thanks a lot, bcsteve..great work !!

I got some of the LR Accubonds in 129gr flavor.....very accurate bullet, and i imagine the performance will be similar to the 130AB.

My 6.5x55 Ruger #1 loves the 160 Hornady RN Iam happy to see it fairs very well, planing to use it this fall to fill the freezer

Nosler's data shows just over 2800 fps as max with the H4831SC but RL19 as the most accurate. H4831SC will have to do as I doubt I will find any RL19.

The problem with Nosler data is they don't show pressure...cross reference the Hodgdon data which does, and you will have a better idea of where you can go with it.
I'm loading for a Howa and a HVA, both strong actions and I'm over the nosler max by a bit with no issues.

Truly appreciate all your work BCSteve!! It has reinforced my opinionated mind on what constitutes a decent big game bullet in 6.5mm.

I will NEVER use a match type bullet to hunt with. There are so many very fine bullets designed for hunting now.
At high velocity, theA-Max's, Bergers, SMK's and Scenars are "bombs" that disintegrate far too easily.

While the Partition still remains my "go-to" bullet, Accubonds, TTSX's, Scirocco II's, A-Frames, and several others like them are just great,
as is shown by the testing done here.

Regards, Dave.

I have just worked through the thread...never considered reading it. What a mistake on my part.

Your work here Steve is more than commendable. It's of extreme value for me as a sophomore reloader for hunting. The work here will save so much time, effort, $ and increase the probability of downing that once in a lifetime animal...

Well done to you and all that have contributed the parts. Take a bow. Thank you.

If you ever need some components for more testing send me a pm and I'll gladly support.

Best Regards
Ron

Eventually I'll upload all the pictures to a new hosting site and repost them. A little busy with summer and family stuff right now but I'll get it done!

Hey, I found this data useful and I saw some posts requesting a format other than an image. I compiled the data from the Part1 and the Part2, and present it here in a bbcode table. You should be able to copy-paste this into excel or other software to fiddle around and sort. Please excuse any typos; I used an OCR tool to pull the data from the image in the OP and it isn't a perfect technology. I've fixed the typos I saw, but there may be others. Anyway, I hope this is helpful for someone.

(edit) @bcsteve, if you would like to post your raw data and tables using this format, here is a tool that will get you 90% of the way. It's a bother to create these from scratch, especially with larger tables. This takes most of the hassle out of the ordeal: http://theenemy.dk/table/

Thank you for your effort in gathering this valuable data!

Thanks for the hard work you did here. I'm surprised that you didn't try the 120 GMX considering how well it did in the .375 testing.
