Anyway the wood we are getting is what is pictured in the first post, no issues will be with the gun when delivered, it will be to spec in all of it's awesome gloryness.

OK, order is in. 6-8 weeks from August 12, so should see them in Canada between September 23 and October 7. Here is hoping

It was 6 to 8 weeks from July 29th they were notified about the wood on August 12 that doesn't mean they were still in China. They're claiming they'll be here end of Sept. So I would think late Sept or early Oct. It's out of TI's hands now. They arrive when they arrive. CBSA can hold them up if they want just because they can. They'll be here soon enough. We've been waiting since Mar 2016 a little longer won't kill

Do you know anyone who has a type 81? That's what is so special I figure. But in all honestly it's because it looks similar to an AK and it a well designed firearm, they also will be very nice quality.

Its essentially a svd and an ak fused together with the general layout of an sks. They thankfully didnt use any similar parts to an sks other than making the bolt handle the same style.

Enjoy your chin bruises. I talked to a guy who used one when he was serving in PLA. He hated the folder Type 81 vs Type 56 solid stock.

But it is a better one than Vz58's, that's for sure.
