M+M CEO Considered Pulling M10X Rifle From Canada After Brouhaha - CDN Gun Blog

Man ......wishing a company goes under real classy!!!! And based on what ?some internet he said she said bull####. Get your head out your ass.

Im pissed at what happened, But I would never wish someone lose their job in this economy. Thats just brutal to say.

Don't worry, your high priced NR taxed NR AR wil be doing that

Dont go all soft on me guys. im just here for the popcorn.

I hope they go bankrupt... sooner = better

I hope they get to build my rifle before they go bankrupt! In all seriousness, you're not gonna get your wish regardless. Pre-sales are apparently moving along very well, with at least one vendor (Tenda) sold out and another that had to increase its number of pre-sale units (SFRC) to meet demand. Not all Canadian gun owners are on CGN, and even of the folks here, most could care less about all of the M+M drama and the butt-hurt perception that our consumer noses have somehow been rubbed in the "NR Tax". You M+M haters are just doing yourselves a disservice by discounting a promising new NR firearm with excellent reviews. Thankfully, there aren't that many of you, and certainly not enough that anyone will notice or suffer as a result of your personal protest/boycott. I predict lonely days ahead for you once the positive Canadian user reviews start to flow and sales go mainstream.....

There are plenty of other dealers that did not jump on this as they did with the X95, wonder why? The new DMR version sold how many 30-40? The Wanstall pre-order before it got shut down, was at around 80+ in just 2 days. So at the new price they are booming right? :D Might be better for M+M because at over 100 rifles it would take them 2-3 years to fill the order :D

I think you're very optimistic. I never buy into pre-orders, no matter what the product is, because I think it is foolish to buy something neither you nor anyone in the country has puttheir hands on. I've seen enough people get burned on pre-orders for cars, video games or firearms (the latest being the T81) to avoid them like the plague. But in this case, I don't think this rifle is worth 2000$. The discrepancy between the canadian price and the US price (converted to CAD) is enough to point to a bad quality/price ratio at 2000$. Granted, I'm not the biggest fan of x39 to begin with, but I like the look of the m10x, so I'd be inclined to at least look at it. But the truth is, even in our price-inflated gun market, 2000$ buys you a lot.

If you make a list of what you can buy for 2000$, and compare these rifles with the m10x, then you see the m10x has to perform better than even advertised. To begin with, you could get a US-imported restricted m10x for less (which, let's be honest here, is the same rifle with a barrel 3'' shorter, dmr safety be damned) and a nice optic.

Then there's the fact that x39 main selling point is the cheap surplus ammos. Those ammos are not exactly known to be very accurate, no matter which gun you shoot them with. So even if the m10x is a tack driver (which it isn't even advertised as), shooting surplus x39 with it will be futile, it'll still turn out to a 3-4 MOA shot. Shooting more expensive x39 might yeild better result, but never anything as good as a good old 308.

So I'm not saying sales will be in the gutter because of MM's shenanigans, I'm saying sales will most probably be unimpressive because of the quality/price ratio, and even in Canada where prices are higher and common AR10/AR15 are restricted, it's not the best in any category. As a range toy, it doesn't compete with a 2000$ AR15. As an x39 range toy, it matches an x39 AR15 but cost 1.5-2x the price. As a hunting or precision rifle, it doesn't match a 2000$ rifle in 308. So the only peeps left to buy one are fanboys (which in this case I use non-pejoratively).

At best, I see a success comparable to the tavor or the Kriss vector. All 3 (Tavor, Kriss, m10x) are rifles that I'd like to own, but the price at which they sell for just isn't worth it, because I can shoot an AR15 at the range and hunt with real hunting rifle for less.

Just my 2¢

Is there any market for this rifle in the USA? They can already buy a real AK, or an AR-15 anyway, and for less money, right?

Swiss Arms are prohibs in USA. Here they are getting Swiss Arms action, AR ergos and looks of AK-12 in 7.62x39.

Rationale of having or not having one in Kanata is explained very well by VinnyQC.

I think SFRC are up to "18" pre-orders for the $2000 anal destroying "NS DMR" joke...far cry from the interest in these at $1500 from Wanstalls.
They will sell exactly ZERO of these rifles in the US at the ludicrous MSRP of $1699.
Reminds me of the Grand Power owner not understanding why the pistols weren't flying off the shelf at $1000 like he thought they should be, and would switch distributors every year because they were not selling enough of them. So every year you would have a dealer blowing them out at $400-$500, of course nobody would pay $1000 for one, the price is already established in the mind of consumers at the lower price. Were they good guns...sure, but not a good deal at $1000.
Same goes for the M&M #### who has been selling these rifles at $1000 US and now thinks they will sell large numbers at $2000CAD here with so called minimal "upgrades"...never going to happen. Some price pimps and toolbags will buy it because it's "new" but sales at $2000 will be 1/10th of what they would have been at $1500.
