Maccabee Defense SLR information and updates

It cost money waiting over one year to get your gun approved by the RCMP. They are taking a risk with this investment given the tricky political situation that the country is being run by the retards wife. When someone does something that no one else does there comes a reward for that efforts. If they are the only to do it, they can expect to make a lot of money.

I also find it funny, cause guaranteed the small amount of people whining and complaining about getting ripped off would also have no problem justifying to themself the exact same price given the situation was swapped. I would bet all my money on that.

hopefully you are comparing price gauging to the likes of the tavor and not the quality--cause the 2 arent in the same building--

Correct. This one is completely dependent on the end user for quality. Put mediocore parts on get a mediocore rifle, put quality in spec stuff, you will get a rifle a tavor can't hope to compete against.

I am eventually going to buy one... I think it will be most popular non restricted in Canada eventually. To build one yourself for 2000-2500
With high quality parts is a great price compared to what's out there.
Plus you are not limited ... take your favorite ar throw all the parts on this reciever and go into the bush. Perfect. I think it's a great idea. And price is ok with me.

Nope. Totally true. Use a tore down norinco... you'll have a better receiver setup but norinco for the rest.

Tear down a DD, and you'll notice little difference unless you count the weight of missing paper. With the right barrel.

I understand that the sume of the parts equals the over all quality of the firearm.

This particular gun is a brand(ish) new design. Failure rates of the actual reciever are unknown.

If one needed a gun to trust it would be wise to chose the proven design.

I have zero doubts there is great accuracy potential in this new gun. I'm just not sure I'd take it to a gun fight... mind you the chances of me getting into a gun fight are pretty much zero. Lol. :)

That paper fights back so hard...

The deer so much more...

The ground squirrels... I can't even speak of it. The carnage...

Stopped in at csc and got to hold their sample. After a few minutes of handling it was an easy decision. Money down...

Same here Stopped in a few weeks ago. If I had more time I would have liked to try one in the range (apparently they had for that plus the one on display)

Nice to hear from someone else who has actually checked it out first hand. Makes me feel better about my choice to order it. I don't usually partake in pre-orders or buy something I've never seen before.

Haha but you started the thread! Lol I’d have bought one regardless, this represents what I have spent thousands trying to emulate but never got it quite right. An AR, I only wish it had FA simply for the aesthetic, it’s part of the iconic shape for me.

Ya I can see how you find it funny that I can be so excited about this yet still have reservations about it. I knew right from the start that this was something I had to support and buy and have no doubts about my decision. I'm just not used to putting money out on something I've never fondled before.
Regardless I'm glad I did and I can't wait for it to arrive!

Stopped by the CSC yesterday and checked out the prototype, they got a deposit from me to. Said they have over 800 deposits at that time.

they told me the first day there were 350 deposits made. It certainly wont take down as easily with the scre but I don't find i take mine down in the field that often. Time will tell if the design is good. after fondling it for 10 min last weekend i placed an order too!
