I perfer a bolt for larger game... so I voted no. It's just simpler and less to go wrong. I don't hunt bear or anything like that.

Varmits on the other-hand...

I am surprised by the poll results. I figured it would be closer to 50:50, not so lop-sided.

Nobody I know hunts with a semi, except for one guy who uses a 10/22 for hares (and misses a lot of them ).

I think it's a "everyone is watching" thing

ISSC mk22 for grouse and rabbit. I used a 10/22 for a while & a savage mkii also. But since I enjoy the MK22 so much more, I take it every time.

Im a pump shotgun hunter too... A minority these days. As a kid pumps ruled the fields and marshes. Not so today as firing 5 shots in 1.5 seconds seems to be important. Hunt pheasant south of the 49th in NoDak occasionally. Have to say with pheasant shooters lions share shoot O&U shotguns with autos following up next. Pump shotguns are a small minority these days.

Well I shoot a semi auto at ducks and geese but chasing pheasants my Winchester 1956 model 12 pump solid rib is MY gun of choice

Have a friend that just getting into hunting, he got a quick taste at the end of the 2017 season and he keen on waterfoul hunting this year. If I get out and scratch the surface in that area I’ll be using a pump, not that I’m against a semi auto shotgun though. Two reasons I use a pump is I prefer the action and I don’t own any self loading shotguns. I’ve fired a few here and there and I still prefer a pump.

Im trying to buy an XCR=M or 102 for spring bear in may. I feel if we dont start hunting more with NR black rifles, then we wll have it removed.

I hunt coyotes with my xcr-L and love it/
