Since C-68 was drafted they were clear that they were, and still are, after all semi-autos.
Long guns, carbines, pistols - that is ALL OF THEM.
The law is written to take them in manageable ‘bite sized’ chunks. Tavor, ACR, XCR, JR carbines, M1 Garand, SKS, MDR, etc., etc. They are coming for all of them.
It is intended to be a living document to restrict and prohibit at the stroke of a pen.
Prohib in small chunks means they can kill off through attrition with little to no repercussions like lost elections (most important) or buybacks/monitary compensation.
Once they are done with auto loaders, they’ll be able to swing their attention to levers and pumps, and then perhaps boltguns too eventually.
