Tavor FAQ (updated 08 December, 2008)

Thoughts?

I just completed the custom 'suppressssor' on it... IMHO it 'balances' the gun quite well compared to a naked pencil barrel.

My next step is to get black IDF grip panels, but I'm not sure if I should get the whole pistol grip component as well instead of just the panels.

That suppressor looks tits! Where did you get it and what do they cost? Are they legal for out in the bush? (I’m assuming its a fake can?)
As for the trigger I think the panels would look cool. I like the Black fde mix

Hi, i got it off another CGN member, it's a non-branded generic can... I think I got it for 35 or 40$... dont remember!

You can pretty much get any reverse-threaded can and cut it to fit. This one was 1.25" too long, and I cut it very flush for the x95

Gotta admit that is one of the nicest x95 builds I have seen in a while, just looks clean.

That said the optic looks way to low to achieve a comfortable sight picture.

Hey guys
I just put down some cash on a X95. Before I pay off the rifle could anyone please confirm that the X95 is 5.56 not .223.
Thanks guys

Looks friggin amazing. Do you mind sharing how long the shroud suppressor is after you cut it? I'm trying to find one to do the exact same thing. How did you cut it?

Cheers

Ok guys.. I'm having a problem disassembling my BCG on my new (to me) X95. I'm supposed to pull back the buffer and then the bolt rotation rod, right? Well the buffer will not move. The bolt rotation rod extends out about 1" (compared to the 1cm'ish I've seen in videos.) I've owned a couple Tavors in the past and never had this problem.

I'm having the exact same problem. I've never owned a Tavor before, but fired my X95 for the first time over a two day course last week and encountered this when trying to clean it.

Aside from this, awesome rifle, I was very happy with its performance. Put about 700 rounds through it over two days and it was flawless. I ran the factory trigger et al. and thought it was fine so now I am debating whether the Giessel trigger pack is worth the money.

I had the same issue with my new X95 and I had watched a bunch of YouTube videos and had the same issue. I had to pull really hard on the bolt rotation rod and I finally heard a click and then the pin pushed out with zero effort. I put on a mechanics glove for a better grip. Don't use pliers or vice grips...I got so pissed off I was tempted!
I just cleaned it again last week and again I had to pull hard, but not as hard as the first time. Rotating it slightly as I pulled seemed to help. It took a surprising amount of effort, not at all like I saw on the YouTube videos.
Spraying a little lube where the rod goes into the bolt carrier should help.

correct-keep pulling with ur hands only--cheers
