The GSG 16 modification thread

Here is a picture of how the claw mount fits after removing, filling, and blending of the top rail on the upper receiver. The piece that comes with the conversion kit was used to fill the space left when the rail plastic is removed. JB weld was to fill. In the last pic you can see what kind of shimming I was talking about. A friend suggest using a coat hanger. So we cut 4 small pieces about 3/8" and put them behind the mount, to grab the reciever. It works well so far, and seems sturdy. Maybe even less movement than with the factory rail. Will find a better way to shim at some point. But it works for now.I still need a rear sight which I ordered.

Well I haven't blended mine... I just put a rail delete so it should sit higher than yours. Problem I had with the other style, was side to side.. But I'll try the coat hanger method.

Ah, I was wondering if you had the delete kit or had removed the whole rail section. Why I posted some extra pics, to make sure we were talking the same thing.

Yes I just removed the factory rail, and put a 3D rail delete piece in it's place. So it still has the raised section. So I shouldn't run into the height issue that you got. But the problem I had with my other mount. Was side to side..

Tiger111Hk had the sight. The barrel looks awesome! One thing. With removing the top rail and plastic, once that's done changing to a short barrel would require re fitting, filling and sanding. Since you have to split the frame to change the barrel.

Are you sure? What they say in stock isn't in stock. I waited a month for them to get it in stock, and nadda.

I assumed it was in stock, as I I didn't notice it saying otherwise. I've been keeping an eye out for one. I'm not in a big hurry for it.

I assumed it was as well.. Then a month went by and inquired what waiting package mean. Told me they were out of stock and waiting for restock. They asked me if there was anything else I was interested in? Well considering this was suppose to be in stock. I asked for a refund.

The part number is SRC-SR5-19

Awesome thanks

Hope the front handguard which showed in stock yesterday when I ordered is actually 'waiting package' rather than out of stock. Will give them a few days before I ask.

FYI for the “SRC” rear drum sight from Tiger111HK - they’ve been out of stock since the end of December. With all that’s going on in China, it could be a while until they receive more inventory of this item.

anyone ordered from moaihobby knows how long it took to deliver to Canada? placed my order last saturday, wonder how things will go with the Coronavirus around there,,,

Is it strange that I can not fit the bullet of a .22 cal round into the chamber of the Dlask 9” Barrel that I’ve received? The bullet (and casing) will fit into the muzzle end of the barrel, though. There’s no way a round will chamber since it’s incredibly tight.

Anyone else have this issue?

I’m getting a gunsmith to install the barrel so I’ll have him look it over. Seems odd though.

I was told by Dlask, that the barrel needs the extractor slot cut, and the breech polished to ensure dependable cycling. They do this service for $100.00. I am lucky, my best friend is a machinist/gunsmith. :)

They accidentally threaded the wrong end?
