Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

Afternoon ladies and gents, got the call yesterday, purchase was made on the 13th of March. Hope everyone else gets theirs soon, have a nice long weekend and Happy Easter!

Got an email reply today..my transfer was initiated this morning and there are 4649 transfers ahead of mine. Currently working on transfers from March 16th

Hmmm I still have a transfer that was initiated on March 9 still not yet completed. I called today and nada.

I was communicating with the CFO for Ontario office today.
They have about 4600 transfers to work on.
They are up to transfers that were started March 6.

Please be patient. They are working with minimal staff.

That is crap. You believe what ever you want.....but it never mattered how many people are in the building, it has always been and will continue to be a directive from the CFO himself, that they drag their ass on transfers.....especially private transfers.

The Ontario CFO’s office has been slow and ‘back logged “ for as far back as 3 or 4 years ago. No other Provincial CFO has any problem getting transfers done. It’s a joke and we’re the suckers.

Does the person that you spoke to stutter? I called yesterday and was told they were still working on transfers from March 6.

That's it.

I'm still waiting for two sales to Ontario that were started on March 9

Things are really hit and miss with the Ontario CFO. I started a couple of transfers (within 24 hours of each other) about the same time as you... one was approved a week ago, but no word on the other.

Yes i understand due to Covid19 services are reduced. However i dont understand why some are receiving their orders before someone that was ahead of them. Do they not take them in que? Funny why this is. This day and age, everything is date stamped. Oh well as long as we can all stay healthy and the ranges are open. Shoot straight and often my friends

my range is closed,
7 weeks and waiting
?Why should our thinking change?
Now with the RCMP knocking on doors, and police handing out $800 tickets for walking in the park (even alone).

This Covid thing seems way beyond the pale. Stats Can says in any given year, 1000+ Canadians will die from the flu, 8,000 from flu+pneumonia and yet no hysteria, no shutting down of the economy, no $200 billion deficit..which has enormous long term consequences.

Im starting to think this is a test case for martial law or perhaps an eventual confiscation scheme.

I’m try to initiate a transfer. I keep calling the RCMP toll free number during business hours but it keeps saying their offices are closed. Anyone have an update?

I have not had any issues calling the CFO number in Ontario. Sometimes there was a longer than usual wait but most of the time they pick up right away for transfers. They are probably closed today though for Easter Monday.

After having called them maybe 50 times, I got hold of them once. Then, in the last 25 days, I called them over 120 times and I am yet to get someone on the phone. More importantly, there's no hold unless someone puts me on hold. So I'm curious, where are you lucky fingers calling? The CFO number I have for Ontario is (705) 329-5522. Is that the one you called?

Of course, I am calling at all types of hours with intermittent gaps, and still no dice.

Nope I just called their regular toll free 1 (800) 731-4000. Press 1 for English, 4 for Transfer and then 2 to get to an agent. Usually less than 5 min wait in the morning and maybe 10 min towards their closing time in the afternoon.

I'm sure being polite, and having your paperwork all in order and ready to respond to the questions, has a lot to do how fast your transfer goes.

After hearing how some people talk to the CFO operators, I'm surprised they don't wait longer than they actually do.
