Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

Man this is moving at a snail's pace. I've got 59038xx from June 3rd, and it looks like I won't be seeing this until October at the pace they're going. This is ridiculous. I won't see my purcases from later in the month until next bloody year, and my order from last week at 59884xx will probably just never show up. There is no good reason this can't be automated, the NR registry was.

It seems to me like the general consensus is that approvals are being done in the order of the reference numbers. If I am not mistaken the number is generated when the seller calls in, and in the case of a personal transaction, forwarded to the provincial CFO when the buyer confirms it. Does anyone know if the buyer waiting on confirmation will result in a delay to the approval process? I'll know the answer in a few months, I was just wondering if anyone had experienced this yet. (I transferred two on the same call, one buyer confirmed within the day, and the other has been unable to get through for a couple of months.)

I initiated 2 transfers at the same time, for different buyers. One of them completed the transfer the same day, the other did not complete it. When the first one was approved, I contacted the CFO. The CFO told me the buyer just completed the transfer, it put his transfer at the bottom of the pile

Yep, its F'ing brutal. According to the chart mathematics my 59814XX will be another 243 days :/ And that one cost me nearly 3k. Long time to have that much $ in limbo

At least you guys have tracking numbers that you can watch in terms of progress. I’ve heard nothing; even from the ombudsman in regard to my complaint about wait times in Ontario.

you mean you've purchased HG's and not received the Reference # yet? As for the wait times, its ridiculous but seems to be a futile battle trying to get them to speed up / hire more people.

I view this thread a couple of times a day to see if there is any good news regarding our transfers. Just wondering if anyone has heard from the ombudsman after answering all their questions.

Yes, I heard back by email that due to too many complains, they cannot give me a forecast on when i will get answer. they need more staff as well :)

That is correct. From June 3 and 4.

Not trying to be wise here, as I can see your post count, but isn't that the vendors responsibility to obtain Ref# and forward to you? I've purchased several since the you-know-what, got email directly from one vendor (Epps) with Ref# within 48 hours of online order. Another vendor did not send it to me so I called them after a month and got it. From my experience, the best / most customer service oriented vendors do their clients a service by providing the Ref# as a sort of guarantee that they've done the job you paid them for.
