Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

So the Ontario CFO has two queues, one for dealer initiated transfers and one for private transfers? If so the private queue must be smaller thus moving quicker? Is anyone tracking the private tranfers?

I have a private transfer on June 20th also, my reference number is less than 100 behind yours. I am going to post my approval hopefully this week!!!

I just replied this on PM, copy for others to see as well.

I read on one of published letter from CSSA the business & private are separate processing queue , and priority is given to business. They are same sequence in a sense that transfer id is issued based on next available slot.
Private queue is much smaller, so in practice it gets processed faster. Not sure the ratio of processing business vs private.
Also in business queue no need for buyer to contact CFO, but for private they should. So no way really to predict private to private transfers. This is what I have gathered so far.

I hope the whole process was more transparent, and we did not have to make so many guesses.
Only real data I have is RCMP transfer per day for all 2022 upto July 19 that was acquired using Access to Information Act.

The transfer #s and rate, I have gathered from CGN on various threads.

Why? You gonna go pick up my gun for me?

Nope, have no need for that. That is totally your call what you publish on the internet.
Reason i said that was because transfer ID is unique # that can be mapped back to your private information by some. I was not sure if you published that intentionally, I do apologize and meant no disrespect.

Just an FYI, picked something up at FOC today and asked about estimated time for transfers, specifically how long my June 3rd will take, he said another few months, not weeks, just june 2 will take many many weeks alone.

Thanks for the info and all your work.

It took them 3 months just to complete the transfers initiated during the first 48 hours of the ban..

It’s not an exaggeration to say you will likely have to wait at least 2 years if you order now in Ontario.. and this is assuming they will drastically speed up from the current pace over the coming months.

APPROVED: 59453xx private purchase initiated June 20, 2022 and I got through for my part June 21, 2022. I just received confirmation from the seller that the gun is in the mail with a confirmation number.

I was going by your spreadsheet Wolf, which showed this should be approved between Mar 21 and Mar 29, 2023. Wolf this is really going to skew your results. I am still scratching my head. I really won't believe it until the gun is in my hand. Some how it must have fallen through the cracks to the top of the pile. Of course no word on the other one I purchased the same day and others later.

I am going out now to buy a lottery ticket.

What provinces were involved in the transfer? ON to ON?

Not sure if trolling or just idiotic. The assertion he's responding to is that is every single day after would take 83 days MORE. He's right, the rest are braindead. Its not that difficult to understand.

People who have no clue yet are so convinced just piss me off so much. Stop to think about why thinking it'll take another 6 months to finish June 3 is so different from estimates based on data.

YES it took 83 days since June 1 for June 1 to finish processing. No it did not take 83 days to work on ONLY June 1 transfers, it took approx 34 days. How much MORE time will it take to finish June 2 if June 1 finished today? 34 days! June 3? less than 34 days because there were 5000~ transfers rather than 7000~ on that day.
You guys are making me lose hope for this country. Is the need to appear right so much more important than sitting down and looking at the numbers and logic?

wait doesn't this chart include all numbers for every province? not making allowances for dispersing the load across all of them? unless I am not understanding (which is possible) its putting the entire load for every firearm purchased in canada through the one onterio office and not in the offices like alberta BC sask etc. or is the rate of approvals (or disapprovals etc) the culmination of every CFO in canada. Im asking as I've been sort of tracking the BC #s and Im guessing this week for my June 24 purchase but by the chart its saying spring 2023. If Im missing something Id love to know helps kill time while I wait lol

The one column On 1/3 assumes 33% of transfers were Ontario and that is what the chart is trying to predict. Because this is the Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

Transfer # are Canada wide, but we know for certain period Ontario was 1/3 that is why I have the column 1/3 Ontario. Rate used is Ontario. Hope it helps clarify things. Many things are assumption, but at the end it is ball park estimate.

Thanks for your efforts wolf. Lots of people are poking holes at your work looking for a ray of hope that just isn't there. Sadly.

I am one of them that pokes holes and try to make it look better, unfortunately problem is rate of approvals not the chart :) Recent approval rate has dropped a bit again. Hope it gets better this week.

Because Ontario is the most swamped and this is a thread about Ontario transfers numbers. BC and other provinces have their own threads people made.

No need to apologize to that d!ck. Thank you for the continued work on the spreadsheet.
