Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

Got the exact same info from that CFO. He was hoarse from talking to folks about the same questions. Seemed like a decent enough dude. Said anyone currently doing purchases won't likely get a transfer till well into March/April of next year if your lucky. I'm still waiting for one of my purchases that was initiated on June 4th with Ref # 590####

If they can consistently double the approval rate from now until then this *might* be true. However, based on current trends (excluding the weekend push) I've pegged my June 29 purchase to around end of May / beginning of June.... then they still have all of the July and August, which includes another big bump because of the import ban.

I spoke with them as well. They have 30,000 transfers to do
They have assigned a couple people who normally do not do transfers to help out
They are being allowed some OT as well.

Yes they are hiring staff. But it's OPP. So not like the hiring process at Walmart.
People have to pass clearance checks, and it is going to take some time

My impression from them was that they are just as upset with this mess as we are.
They are doing their best in a bad situation.
I would encourage people not to call because that takes them away from transfers.

The one guy suggested what I suggested - call your MPP (not your MP)
Like I stated in my other post, they are OPP and they report to the Solicitor General
Look up who has that portfolio, that is who needs to get the ball rolling - and get your MPP on it....

F**king hell, they are unionized, surely they have a few guys or gals who strained their back while handing out speeding tickets and are assigned desk duty for the next month that could help?

We should start a gofundme for Ontario CFO to pay for overtimes to accelerate the restricted transfers :)

The amount we pay in taxes, it should be instantly done online. Your first one gets the usual treatment, after that, you already have firearms in the house. If you own a semi automatic and buy another, instant background check and approved.

100% agree, if someone has valid RPAL transfer should be automatic, if any reason transfer should not be completed, RPAL should be suspended anyways. but .....

Agree. I can see it taking slightly longer with a private to private transfer, to verify both sides and make sure everything is ok with the gun, owned by the seller, not stolen, restricted not prohibited, etc. But a Dealer to Private individual who already has 1 or more handguns, should be instant. If your pal is revoked, then they should already be at your door taking what you currently have making it an easy rejection, and the dealers have already gone through the process of registering the gun when they received it, so there is no need to verify anything on that end.

5901### approved saturday morning 9am.
5957### approved saturday morning 9am.

Nice! When was the 59557### initiated? Were both of these business to private in Ontario? If so is it possible that CFO may be starting batch transfers?!? Major fingers crossed!!

According to someone talking to the CFO at TACCOM, they said they were doing 100 transfers per day.
Don't know if they're rounding up or only including days they actually work on transfers.
