Update On Ontario Restricted Transfer Times

Correct, this is the first one I have seen.

What I was implying was the bulk of the 593's should be during this time frame, but certainly will not include all of them, there will be some outliers before and after. I just had a 5916 completed on June 19, which is by far the latest 591 I have seen. I also had a 5928 and 5924 completed yesterday (I've had 3 others completed, so these weren't my first). It is a bit messy but they are slowly getting through things.

Looks like we aren't getting a weekend bump from the cfo.

I would say with Fridays announcent the cfo has decided to halt overtime and run out the clock at our expense. Applying more pressure on Dougie and his MPPs might change that though?

The overtime was temporary. It was the old "rope a dope' before the announcement. This goverment wants to abuse us licenced gun owners. Punish us for being stand up citizens and not the criminals he portrays us to be. He NEEDs us to look bad - so he can finally put the cherry on his cake. Don't give him what he wants or needs. Respect to all you fellow firearms owners.

There is no "running out the clock", the regulation was amended before implemented to clearly state that transfers initiated before midnight October 21st must be processed normally (aka under the old rules).

If they start mass rejection they'll get taken to court and they will lose.

Edit: As the other poster said, the CFO working overtime is a bonus for us but was never guaranteed. I'd wait until Monday or Tuesday to see if they are attempting to play games (I only say Tuesday in the off chance that nobody here happens to have a transfer come in Monday... I figure the odds of us missing two days in a row are pretty low)

I meant run out the clock on having a job. When the backlog clears, there will be cfo downsizing.

Perhaps not. One of the unknowns is what their role will be when handgun owners die, become incapacitated, leave the country or just want to get rid of their guns. It's not unreasonable to conclude the CFO's office will have some role in providing ATTs, deregistering handguns and approving and overseeing their disposal.

Transfer started June 11th

Approved today October 23rd

Another I had planned to transfer to my wife, but we missed the boat. The death of my beloved Shooting Sports is on the horizon.

Over to Robert Frost to summarize how I feel about it all...

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound’s the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

Well, with no new transfers being started, the backlog of existing transfers should get cleared quickly.

I doubt that. The Ontario CFO was not impeded by new transfers being started, they are just not doing batch transfers like other jurisdictions and have not ramped up as many staff as other provinces has to deal with the Turd's fisaco.

Truthfully, this should have been solved by July, and the lack of service we are seeing says everything you need to know about how the Ontario CPC feels about handgun shooters in Ontario.

Doug Ford is showing his true colors, the red is showing through, the guy has shown himslef to have no balls, his brother is probably rolling in his grave seeing what a complete woosie old Dougie has become,he should have told the OPP to get their #### together or he'd move the transfer program to a private party who CAn do the job,3 people working only 2 or 3 days a week is why transfers take forever,

I don’t get why people think this. The fact that there won’t be any new ones just means that eventually there’ll be an end point where they’ll actually get caught up. It doesn’t mean that they’ll process the existing ones any quicker than they already have been.
