Going to the gunsmith tomorrow, shortening to 18.6", threading to 1/2 x 28, re-installing the front sight.
The low QD rings work well and I'm getting an OK cheek weld.

Only semiautos have to be kept at a barrel length of 18.6". Everything else can legally be shortened to 18.1". Might as well get that extra half inch...
I've had the 760/7600s with 18.5", 20" and 22". The 20" is the best length for handling.
I'm going to want a light mount as well as an IR laser. I'm thinking about drilling the left side of the forend and then bolting a short Pic rail.
Any other suggestions?
Well, this is what I’ve got on mine, but I ordered it years ago when you could get it through Brownell’s. Brownell’s no longer carry’s Amega Ranges, and they don’t ship to Canada. I’ve been trying to figure out a way to get another one for another 760/7600 build.
Might even have to pull the one I’ve got and ship it to somebody like P R Cook (gunsmith on here) and see if he can build me another one.

Very cool!
The other thing, looking back at the pictures, that I’ll suggest. Especially with you being in the mainland. Get the metal coated. Ceracoat, Duracoat, Armacoat. Just something to keep it from rusting after you’ve done all this work to it.
... For the light mount. It’s not going to work for an IR laser. Your forend will move around to much for a laser to be any good. ...
Agreed - Couldn't you just use a barrel clamp pic rail? Might have to shim to get it to fit, but it would be a more or less permanent attachment so that wouldn't matter much.
That looks to be a perfect utility rifle under our present laws.
