Confusingly enough, the "standard" barrel is heavy- ish.
Just to confirm that your FTE was caused by your extractor?
So my original email to Crusader outlining my issue was sent off 03/25. After 2 weeks of no response, i sent another email 04/09. They responded to me on 04/10 stating that i should have received an email from their shipping department asking for my address which has been provided multiple times within or +40 email thread. After checking my email for anything to do with either spectre or CA under a different address and finding absolutely nothing, i assumed they were just covering their ass after being called out on their lack of support. Within their email they informed me i would be sent a new gas piston spring.
Well today, 04/16, ive received my new spring. Im feeling a little under the weather but when i get to it ill compare and post up the results. Im not convinced this will solve the issue, but glass half full right?
I filmed the ejection in "slom-mo" and seen that the case seems to eject at 1130, then hit the brass deflector then bounce (this is when the case may hit the edges of the ejection port) This is only astethics.
If wanting to tackle this issue, I would use a 3D printer and try other deflector shapes to try to send casing further away from the receiver.
Agreed. I may try so. I did order an upgrade bcm extractor spring and a tna upgraded stiffer ejection spring. I’ll see how those do and get into the 3d print idea if it doesn’t resolve. At the end of the day it only happened once out of 200 I’m not too worried
Have you had this issue? How would one design a deflector on a 3d printer?
My gun has been running great, besides the very forward ejection, (cause if it’s first stove pipe)
I’d like to resolve it for good, I’m hoping the stiff upgraded TNA ejector spring and the Upgraded extractor stiff spring will fling the
spent casings more at the 2-3 o clock range. What’s your thoughts on that?

Remember that anything that will send the carrier back faster which will result in your cases being ejected closer to the 12 o'clock position.
It is my understanding that over-gassing or BCGs coming back too quickly (relatively speaking) will result in forward ejections and the potential for stove-pipes.
Given that the Templar Gen 1 was originally designed with only two recoil springs and the Gen 2 has three, all other things being equal, I would imagine the BCG is moving faster (both backward and forwards), which I would think in some combinations of gas pressures and conditions might result a slightly higher chance of stovepipes than the previous Gen 1s, unless they fine-tuned the spring strengths from two springs to three.

My apologies to everyone. I got mixed up and reversed in my clock... In my case, 1200 being the barrel axis, the gun ejects ar 0530 hitting the case deflector on the side of the rifle and bouncing around.

After just finishing taking a slo no video I can see the brass defector is indeed redirecting the round towards the front of the gun and it it’s sometimes so close the bolt catches it. Will be trying out different brass deflectors and different ejector spring. Another concern I have is there’s a lot of brass shavings in my reciver? Why’s this

It's a proprietary barrel nut that requires a special wrench to remove the barrel.
Crusader told me that I'd have to ship the gun back to them to have the barrel removed and they'd never provide the wrench to anyone else.
AR15 barrel mid length gas to my knowledge but don't take my word as gospel on that.
Sighted in the Templar with buffer tube. The rifle functioned fine with no failure to feed or stovepipes. Mags can be inserted on a closed bolt. Used LAR 15, Cross mags and the UTG mag that came with the rifle.
Brass ejects in a pile at 2:00 and 4 feet feet from the bench. Shooting Norinco white box, Spitfire 3x prism, Triggertech 3 1/2 lb duty trigger and some scavenged Blackhawk accessories.
Only issues out of the box was an over indexed flash hider, I had to tighten the screws that cover the barrel nut and they used red lock tight on the ambi safety.
