Hmmm where can I find crown specs?

Every time I see a lathe video, it puts me slightly closer to seriously looking into buying a small "hobby" unit for small tasks or projects.Nice to have a lathe with a short spindle!
I liked the DRO setup on the tailstock ram. It would really help when chambering a barrel.
Same, found some cheap lathe bits on ali express hahah. Just got to make sure it's long enough for a barrelEvery time I see a lathe video, it puts me slightly closer to seriously looking into buying a small "hobby" unit for small tasks or projects.
CQB sights.Mossberg didn't group as well. Mossberg's bolt has a bit of a sloppy action as compared to my Ruger and Parker hale, plastic stock isn't the Ruger's laminated wood. The 16.25 barrel is loud and recoil is a bit more. The iron sight on the Mossberg are true larger aperture CQB sights. The Ruger has a better rear aperture. You can use M 14 mags but I don't think I would even if it was legal, might be a bit weak made with synthetic material. Very happy with the Ruger.
I had a Mossberg scout, it was ok. Bought a Ruger, well worth the extra cost.
What made it so much better?
I ended up ording a left hand tikkia ctr compact. 20" barrel removable 1pWhy do you want such a short barrel? They are freaking loud! Are you trying to find a rifle with Iron sights? Personally I own a Savage 110 scout in .223. I bought it so I could have a rifle with iron sights with a removable magazine that does not follow the AR platform to shoot at the range. It is a decent rifle but the first thing I did was swap out is the ported muzzle break for a flash can so I don’t need double ear protection. I then bought a couple MDT mags. The only issue I had was it shot a bit high with 55grn so sent it to Savage to have the barrel tweaked. After a couple back and forths to the factory l have a rifle that shoots POA. I have had no loading or extraction problems and Savage service has been good to me. I am personally happy with the rifle but they do have a high comb. A friend of mine couldn’t even get down on the sights although the new pro mag version may be better.
The only thing that sucks about the ctr is the price of extra mags, $200 a mag is retarded.I ended up ording a left hand tikkia ctr compact. 20" barrel removable 1p

Less confewshion this way.FFS ! Looky thats a Single shotter !![]()
I like Rugers, A LOT!! I used to have a .308 varmint model, walnut stock and nice blued steel with the heavy barrel (see pic.). I nailed a lot of deer with that rifle! I was a strong guy back in the day, and lugging 10lbs. of rifle didn't bother me. Now I'm an old guy and I was looking for a good bush gun. I got a good deal on one of the Ruger American in .308 with the muzzle brake. OMG!!! With my handloads I'm sub MOA at 100 yds., old eyes, shaky hands and all. Here's 165 gr. Speer Spitzer SP on top of IMR 4064. Ignore the flyer; like I said, old eyes and shaky hands.
Does a muzzle break make a big difference on a 308? Some say it's not worth it. And what kind did you put on?I like Rugers, A LOT!! I have the Ruger muzzle brake which, according to Ruger, reduces felt recoil by as much as 58%. Is that number accurate? I don't have the equipment to verify that claim but I can tell you that between the muzzle brake and the recoil pad, it's very easy on my old bones when I have a day at the range. Of course, as with any muzzle brake, the redirected gasses make for quite a boom and a lot of disturbed air around the muzzle. I don't think the deer will mind.Does a muzzle break make a big difference on a 308? Some say it's not worth it. And what kind did you put on?
