Everyone has a preference... fullstocks really fit the eye of some shooters, others don't care for them, but prefer sporter style rifles... some like European stock geometry, some prefer American lines... some like walnut and blued, others prefer stainless in synthetic or laminate... personally... I like them all.I absolutely love the look of Stutzens and anything with a fullstock. Also, the Swedish 41b Mauser is one of the most beautiful rifles to grace our green earth.

Think I’m detecting a slight preference for Ruger?Everyone has a preference... fullstocks really fit the eye of some shooters, others don't care for them, but prefer sporter style rifles... some like European stock geometry, some prefer American lines... some like walnut and blued, others prefer stainless in synthetic or laminate... personally... Nope, they are in the garden... holding up the tomatoes...Ye-aaaaaah butt, yuh dun plum furgit les Tikkas.
It's worth keeping one around. What if you have to lend someone a rifle? Wouldn't want to give them anything too nice...Nope, they are in the garden... holding up the tomatoes...

Great cartridge. I have a 40x in it, great little shooter. - dan^ ain’t that the truth lol.
My son’s girlfriend decided she wanted to try deer hunting. The best low recoil candidate in my stable is a cooper 21 in 6x47 rem. She was doing her best to be careful so I tried really hard not to visibly cringe watching her newby gun handling skills.
She got her first buck yesterday, whew.View attachment 1045266
Had one of those, and a few other South American Mausers (and Mexican) back in the day. Made some nice sporters out of most of them, but the really nice examples I couldn't bring myself to tear apart so sold them on. Nice rifles. - dan
Don't be jealous.Lots of Upper Class Fuddism in this thread.![]()
HiThose Model Seven MS are an enigma. They fly in the face of a classic full stock European style rifle but do pull it off very well.
They're all chambered in American cartridges, in an American acton, in a laminated stock all made by an American company. Hardly a true to form classic rifle but it does seem to work.
That would make a fine little deer hunting rifle - you don' see them in .257 Roberts very often.Hi
Love my 1981 Winchester Model 70 xtr fwt 257 roberts and my Winchester Model 70 supergrade blue walnut 270 win
I had a pair of Supergrades in .257 Roberts and 7X57, both with incredible wood... never should have sold that pair, but the Rugers were ganging up on them in the safe... it was the only humane thing to do.That would make a fine little deer hunting rifle - you don' see them in .257 Roberts very often.

I really like the lines of the European rifles like Sauer, Heym SR 21 and 30's or the new Anschutz model 1782D with the German hogsback stock and shenoble (my spelling sucks) forend.
I liked the Anshutz 1782D in 30-06 so much I ordered one yesterday! It should arrive on Wednesday. I can hardly wait!
