Russian SKS45 long thread.

At the price of the gun I cannot see them investing in replacing the original mag with another Chinese one. Plus, its not like they have a thousand or so Chinese mags laying around.( I don't think they do at least)

i think the chinese may have thousands of cheap 5 rd mags (hunting type) lying around , probably made for the US market then got cot behind the ban, even if bell could get them for $5 each it wouldnt make sense for them to hire someone to replace the russian mag .

this is my guesstamit , if we could buy a russian SKS45 for $166 then SIR is getting them for $120-125 (33% profit) and in turn bell is buying them at $80-85 (50% to cover shipping , compliant and red tape cost) so if an entire rifle is worth $80 to bell then just the mag alone is worth almost nothing .

i just cant see what bell gonna do with thousands of russian mag that has become mismatched , they have much better chance of unloading the entire container with the matching mag on. just MHO.

one more thing, whats the point of frontier charging extra for collectors grade when the mags are replaced by norinco mag? who would want to pay extra for that?

It might cost an order or two but someone would TELL us if they knew. If the mags are Chinese, then Frontier must not know, cause they wouldn't sell us that without tellin us.

Our local gun store is gettin 10 also. I had to break em the news a month back about June. We're all still countin the days. As far as I know, price here will be $218 and 8 of the 10 are already spoken for...including mine.

does anyone know definitively that Frontier rifles will be delayed until June, like the ones from SIR? or is it just speculation? Frontiers site still says end of April, and I was really hoping I'd get a surprise in the mail in the next week or 2 from Frontier

no, nobody can definitively tell you that cos officially ETA from frontier is "late April to early May" but what i could tell you is that both dealers are getting theirs from the same shipment so ideally , best scenario is some time in between frontier's early may and SIR's june ..... so late may .:)

Well according to my source all of the rifles cereal numbers have to be verified once they are off the boat before they can be shipped out to the stores , so if all of our rifles are on the same boat and there are from what I hear 300 going to SIR and about 230 or so to frontier then however many other rifles are on the boat there could be about 600 to maybe 800 rifles for "them" to verify the cereal numbers on and that can take a while plus all the other red tape I am sure that has to be gone through. Patience is key for me , they arent gonna get here untill they get here so I am just gonna wait till I get mine , even if it takes till the end of June thats fine by me cause i know that my name is on one!! Im still really stoked though!

I'm wondering when we all get our SKS', the EE or the general value of SKS' will drop dramatically? I can't see people charging $300 + for these rifles when everybody bought them for under 200 (from SIR). Am I right or can we all just sell them for profit after?

in the near term . if you cant see people paying $300 + than i cant see people selling them at a lost either .

russian are the best among SKS to collect , one hasnt been made over 50 years, the value could only rise in time.

There are other company in Toronto which promising to bring SKSes -
Baikalcanada, i'm just wondering, are they gonna get them from the same
shipment that everybody is waiting...
