At the price of the gun I cannot see them investing in replacing the original mag with another Chinese one. Plus, its not like they have a thousand or so Chinese mags laying around.( I don't think they do at least)
i think the chinese may have thousands of cheap 5 rd mags (hunting type) lying around , probably made for the US market then got cot behind the ban, even if bell could get them for $5 each it wouldnt make sense for them to hire someone to replace the russian mag .
this is my guesstamit , if we could buy a russian SKS45 for $166 then SIR is getting them for $120-125 (33% profit) and in turn bell is buying them at $80-85 (50% to cover shipping , compliant and red tape cost) so if an entire rifle is worth $80 to bell then just the mag alone is worth almost nothing .
i just cant see what bell gonna do with thousands of russian mag that has become mismatched , they have much better chance of unloading the entire container with the matching mag on. just MHO.
one more thing, whats the point of frontier charging extra for collectors grade when the mags are replaced by norinco mag? who would want to pay extra for that?
