Actually, he's right, they are replicas, and thus prohibited. Stupid but true.

Wrong...A replica doesn't shoot any projectiles...if it shoots BBs, Pellets, airsoft BBs, elastic bands, flares, etc, it is 100% legal. Check the CFC website, I'm too lazy to post the link.

Who thinks CanAm could save many hours of wasted emails and phone calls from the masses (us) by posting a few occasional updates on here?? The time spent on here would pay huge dividends, giving them more time to do what's important (processing my order!)

Anyone agree?

Actually, I think we could look at it this way. We've waited how long? Six, seven months. So, even if we have to wait one or two more. Really; most of us have many more guns to shoot.

Being able to own this rifle is to me; a gift unto itself.

If you look back some he stated that he will not be posting much in the next couple weeks. More important things to do.

for once, I completely agree with olegs. Between that and the registry being turfed, I think someone spiked my waterbottle with lsd.

What pray tell is moving ahead?
Credit cards are being billed... so what!?

The T-97's are still in Canada Caustoms lock-up. They have NOT as yet been released. Customs has had them for three weeks now. There is no difference now than when they were sitting in the hold of some Chinese ship somewhere out in the Pacific Ocean. They are no closer to being delivered in your hands.

As least, on the ship, they were moving closer to Canada at about 10 knots. Technically, they are not as yet in Canada (They are in limbo) and after 3 weeks, I would say they aren't moving period.

Once Customs releases them and they come thought the door at CanadaAmmo then you can rejoice. Getting a woody because Mark has charged your credit card just blows me away.

I don't want to piss on anybody's parade, but Canada Customs can sit on a shipment for a very long time if they so wish. They can also decide to put it back an a ship returning to China.

Judging from the fact that they are not as yet released, I would imagine that Customs is scouring the laws for a loophole to reject these black, evil looking instruments of mass murder. "We" know that they fall into the non-restricted class, but Customs sure as hell doesn't.

Again, I don't want to kick you in the gonads, but Customs has been know to "hold" shipments for MONTHS, ending with either their release of refusal to import.

God only knows what goes on in the minds of the Customs Lords. They have absolute power over goods entering our country.

The best thing we can do is WAIT for CanadaAmmo to announce that they have physically received the rifles and are commencing shipments.

Having your credit cards charged means NOTHING. It is conceivable that "IF" customs doesn't release the rifles soon, CanadaAmmo may start reversing (crediting) your credit cards until such time that Customs gets off their ass and decides on the shipments status.

Queued to processed, processed to charged, charged to backordered, backordered to invoiced... doesn't mean a damn... the only status that means something is "SHIPPED".

The only post I would like to see in this thread is, "They are being shipped..."

Not entirely correct. They do not have absolute power over goods entering our country.

They can delay and take a long time to do things, but when it comes to firearms, they are not "experts" and cannot make a decision whether or not to let the firearms into the country.

It is an act of Parliament that decides that. In the Criminal Code are lists of firearms that are prohibited from entry into Canada. If the firearm is not on that list and the correct paperwork is done, the customs agents do not have the power to deny entry. They cannot make up the law as they see fit any more than an RCMP officer can decide that 50km/hr is too fast for town and he thinks he'll start giving tickets to anyone going 40 km/hr or more. These Type-97s are not on the prohibited list, we're fine. (The only reason they can deny entry is if the paperwork is not in order or the crates are not disinfected before shipping etc...things that Norinco would have had to take care of on their end. They are an international dealer, I'm sure they did the job on their end.)

So, while it might take them a long time to verify contents and paperwork, it should still only be a matter of time. Don't worry, the individual CBSA employee does not have the authority to deny our guns entry. He/She may not know the intricacies of firearms law, but that doesn't matter, their decision is still made based on the written law and policy.

Sorry, but I'm right, you're not:

"3. Air guns that are replica firearms

These are air guns that are not powerful enough to cause serious injury or death, but that were designed to resemble a real firearm with near precision. Replica firearms, except for replicas of antique firearms, are classified as prohibited devices.

In particular, some air guns that are commonly called air soft guns may fall into this category. These are devices that have a low muzzle velocity and muzzle energy, and that usually discharge projectiles made out of a substance such as plastic or wax rather than metal or lead.

Although replica firearms are prohibited, you may keep any that you owned on December 1, 1998. You do not need a licence to possess them, and they do not need to be registered. However, as an individual, you cannot import or acquire a replica firearm. If you take a replica firearm out of Canada, you will not be able to bring it back in."

Guys, patience is the order of the day. These are not the first non-restricted bullpups CanAm has brought into the country.

He knows what he's doing.

Trust in CanAm, he'll deliver.

Excellent, a gopher taser gun

Usually the only caliber restrictions are what ever your shoulder can handle. I used to use an 06 with hot loaded 110gr Sierra HP's, and my bud had a 270 with Hornady 100's, what fun!! Instant red mist! Although after 20 - 30 rounds prone on the ground, one would get a little stiff. Which is why I ordered one of these 97's.
