Anyhow, here's the "scoop"... Canada Customs has sent a "sample" of the NON-Restricted T97 to the RCMP... So, the rifles are still in the grubby hands of Canada Customs & one poor unfortunate rifle is with the RCMP... I "wonder" how much "testing" they do of the firearm? I certainly DON'T want the rifle the RCMP had!!! Poor poor rifle... Anyhow, CanAm did say that it should only take a couple days for the RCMP to "inspect" the rifle and tell Canada Customs to release the shipment...

He didn't hazard a guess as to when he'd be shipping, but I did joke that gopher season was coming up and I needed the rifle for that...

Thats pretty much what i was told by Chris last week also.

OK, how about a picture of me before I shave in the morning?

I don't know what this model is but I'm guessing airsoft...it has the vertical foregrip (Type 97A) but appears to have the longer barrel and doesn't have the funny flash hider (Type 97). I'm only speculating of course...just enjoy the photo.

Per your request, everything I could find (some on this board, but too lazy to sort). I tried to limit it to pics close to the model we are all waiting on.

I'm totally mixed up on what rifle is what as I notice that one of the pics from lever looks like the one above, and the other looks like the ones that CanAm has pictured. Note the vertical foregrip and the "jungle carbine" style flash hider as well as a "can" of sorts on the barrel...maybe a suppressor/silencer? Anyways, an airsoft? Or maybe the Chinese automatic 5.8 calibre version?

That's not an airsoft. That's just one BADA$$ looking rifle. The only airsoft rifle made is one by Real Sword that looks exactly like the one on CANAM. This is a Chinese rifle with their specific calibre & magazine. I love that pic.

That is the shorty version from Lever Arms. Looks like a cmore or kobra? sight

Some good eye candy there but it made it worse, im gonna go home and play with my scope and mags with no rifle to put them on.

maetsack,
One of those pics is quite interesting. From everything that I have read, the T97 doesn't except polymer/plastic mags, but one of your photo's clearly shows it with one. Now there is a possibility that THAT photo is of an airsoft model. Airsoft mags are not always 1/1 scale. I guess we'll never really know until we all have our rifles. Mind you I'm sure I heard that Clob tried and it didn't work out. Call me crazy, but I think I'd trust his statements seeing as he's actually got one.

It could be - I grabbed photos that looked the most like the ones we are getting. No doubt an airsoft could have gotten mixed in just because it looked so damn close.

It could be that since some of the pics are of the Chinese CQZ 5.8 calibre model rifle in use by the chinese or cambodians...they have a proprietary magazine, which is quite possibly of polymer construction.

LOL. Maetsack, I'm not knocking you on posting an airsoft pic (if it even is one). Too be honest, a mere visual of either would not differentiate them. Seeing as both are made primarily of polymer and the airsoft verision states that it is made of the same materials as the real one. Personally from what I have read, it sounds like one of the most accurate Airsoft rifles around. A very easy mistake for anyone.

No worries. It looks cool so I make no apologies :D

No no,
Shootemup, I know that the Chinese version uses a PMAG. The photo I'm refering to is one of the rifles made for 5.56 calibre using a PMAG. Take a closer look at ALL the photos. You'll see one with a PMAG of the version we're all waiting for. LOL, it's funny. I'm not even sure why we're all getting caught up in this. Last I checked, they don't make 10rnd polymer mags anyways. LOL.

The nice thing is once we have these in our hands we can experiment with the polymer mags that are out there for ARs. I travel to Florida regularly so I'm hoping I find some options next time I'm down there.

There are some out there to try right?

BTW - I'll make sure they are pinned prior to returning to the Great White North.
