Next on the horizon for Norinco

I guess they've resolved their plastic issues, but the 180b was originally made for aluminium wasn't it?
The AR-180b is the civilian variant of the Armalite AR-18, which was intended as a low-cost alternative weapon for countries that could not afford the latest Western rifle, AR-15 and variants, though it never achieved commercial success. Despite its pressed steel receiver and spot welds, it's still considered a decent 5.56mm rifle. However, because of the cheaper grade materials used in construction, it's considered the poor man's AR-15 (like how the Camaro is the poor man's Corvette... I love Camaros! :D)

An updated model of the AR-180 was introduced in 2001 as the AR-180B, with a molded polymer receiver replacing the stamped steel original. The polymer construction is designed to make the receiver walls more rigid than the original stamped metal version, as well as lighter in weight. A version with a Picatinny rail is planned for production.

Explain how they would automatically be prohib if they are an duplicate of a firearm that is non-restricted(M78), and restricted(Sterling police model) respectivley??? I'm not saying that the RCMP wouldn't f**k everyone over as usual, but they would not have a legitimate reason for doing so, when they themselves left the loophole to begin with.

The valmet M78 is an AK clone. They were let in by accident, and made as an exception. That single model only. RCMP would class any repro an AK clone, which it rightfully is!

I totally forgot about the Sterling Police Model. Every model I've seen aside from that one is Prohib, so I'm not sure why that one is classed as restricted. I guess a repro of this one might be non-restricted then!

All AK variants (that includes guns that look like AK's as well) are prohibited EXEPT, by name, the Valmet m78 and Valmet Hunter... Now, to be a Valmet gun, it has to be made by Valmet and it has to be a model M78 or the model Hunter. That's the way the law is interpreted by the CFC geniuses.

Same thing goes for the Sterling Police Carbine.

Is that more clear?

I think it is because M78 itself is a copy of an AK47, due to some fowl up the "Valmont M78" get a special examption, since any Norinco clone can't be sold as "M78" it will be subject to RCMP classification, which means it will be classified as an AK47 clone, thus be prohibited.

man there is sooooo much they can do.

2 x for the Sterling in 9mm and a 22 version.
how about a sten in 9mm or 45acp, ( they would not have to even re-tool!)

or semi version of the Bren! Brens would put the M14's to shame. A bren for everyone!

Why not just chamber it in .50BMG and serve a large audience?

Because we could get the 14.5mm for less than a buck a piece. They have billions of 14.5mm rounds sitting around and thousands of PT's too.

It is up to 60% more powerful than a 50 BMG and comes equipped with a tungsten core.

a desert eagle clone (44 MAG OR 50AE) for less than 700.00$
a rifle like the xcr (non restricted for less than 1000.00$) that takes ar mags
a tavor clone for less than 1000.00$ (t97 lolllll)

I WOULD BUY!!!

:D

Honestly, the thing I'd like to see most are some short barreled 20ga pump shotguns. I would have already bought a mag pump if it came in 20ga. Be even nicer to see a rifled barrel available as well.
