Doesn't explain why Epps claims to pay $2,100 wholsale for a gun somebody is able to sell for under $2,000.
That has nothing to do with overhead,
On another note, big retailers like Epps could import themselves if they would be willing to go the extra mile.
sure if they want to freeze themselves out of the canadian wholesale network...
case in point, armseast sells colt, stag and some FN stuff and he does on occasion get some oddball pistol stuff... that is all he sells, thats it.... 3 or 4 products.....
ellwood epp's has to deal with wolverine for armalite, nicholls and FN sports and several other companies, TSE for kimbers, P&D for Wilson Combat, Police Ord. for Glock.....
Why do you think Questar does not import full size glocks ? one of the reasons is because Police Ord. complained to glock that another dealer was horning in on their Distribution Rights for glock pistols in canada, ie: Police Ord. PAID for the right to sell and represent glock pistols in canada..... so glock sent a letter to ALL USA wholesalers of glock pistols telling them to cease and desist selling glock pistols to Questar (the letter used to be on their old web page)
anyway to get back to the point, it is not worth Epp's hassles to short stop their canadian wholesalers to import direct.... most manufacturers will not deal direct and will forward their request to the canadian distributor anyway.
piss off the Few Canadian wholesalers and kiss goodbye to having a well stocked store.....
I am not even going to get into the cost of importation or the 5 month to 2 year's waiting for state dept to approve a buisness import/export certificate that is issued PER shipement...
yes your method works for the single gun sale..... for private use, but once you turn that into a buisness enterprise well then your in for a world of hurt.. was there not some dude that isserving jail time now for some FN P90 imports that where deemed to be imported for buisness use ?
