Best/Most effective AR compensator

Honestly we have been surprised by the commercial demand for these. Chris Costa and Jerry Barnhart running these has created a great deal of interest, Chris with the civilian segment, and a different segment from Jerry and his audience these days.

I'd be hard pressed to spend that much on a comp. My competition gun has one on it, but thats cause the gun is on a permanent loan from KAC to me, and I did not have to pay for the stuff on it.

I think they work incredibly, however for most shooters (as I keep saying) classes and shooting practice will do a lot more - especially with Cdn gun laws and 5 rds mag limits.

Secondly for LE/MIL -- unless your using flash retardant powders (like Mk262 or Brown Tip have) short barrels with these are generally a bad idea -- my rule of thumb is to use a can if you can ;)

Steel TT aint happening, we cannot get reliable life out of them, and everyone down here wants can compatibility...
secondly we need to EDM the flash slots at the end at the least for larger saw cuts make a really big flash even on longer barrels.

Ahh so thats how you cut the thin little slots, I should have guessed EDM :D

I guess EDM wont cause the Inconel to work harden and damage the bits/wire

The last issue of Front Sight Magazine had a final column regarding comps and the results were surprising. The Arredondo comp proved the most effective; however, the more common comps were almost as effective. The guy who makes the Arredondo comps is a nice guy, an avid Multi-Gun competitor and puts support back into the shooting sports.

Would this be the article you are referring to?

The only problem with the "Sled" that the article uses, is it can only go in one direction.

What really needs to be done is the shooter wear a biomechanical suit, with indicator positioners on the weapons, and then all recoil and movement can be tracked. (Its pricey to do though)

So have you seen any secret prototype mechwarriors? :D

FSC556, like any DNTC devices build by PWS, is an amazing muzzle raise comp,
but it doesn't do fcukall as a flash hider.

The TTO (made by PWS) is build the same way as the FSC
without the flash hiding prongs.

For FA fire only, IMO, the PWS's muzzle device called TTO
is the best compensator out there,
meaning no other compensators can do this in FA fire:

Another great PWS propaganda video, notice the lack of flash and awsome comps at work.

sirry I have missed this threads. I've been running a Levang Linear comp and a Kx3 clone, ( both not very noisy) and had good reports ( so to speak ) from a buddy on the Jerry Miculek comp, and am about to try out a Smith Enterprises 5.56 NATO ar-15 brake ( PN 1002). i'd like to figure out away of doing an objective comparison - ie recoil reduction, noise increase, group size impact. I tried the Levang on a 10-22 and group sizes seemed to shrink by 1/3.
