Perhaps you're confusing what is illegal, and what I'd get charged with. There is no law that prohibits what we're talking about here, however, if somebody with as much experience as yourself thinks it's illegal, surely a police officer could too. I may get arrested, but it doesn't mean that it's illegal.
Again, in Canada, it is legal to anything you want, unless it is defined as being illegal. You cannot prove something is legal, only what is illegal. Our definitions of what is illegal is conveniently grouped together in what we call the Criminal Code of Canada, and the Firearms Act. So, since I can find no definitions about what we're talking about in these documents, it is LEGAL.
Just like a criminal case, the onus would be on the Crown to prove I committed an illegal act, otherwise I am innocent. Please show me the section that I would get charged with.
