I've got a black, plastic 870 and I will shoot as many or more geese than any fine English double. And I don't much care if I drop it in the water. lol
I can spray paint it camo and sell for a $200 premium to a dumb kid. lol

Nothing wrong with selling good quality, affordable products. How many Holland and Hollands do you own?
yes, lets compare, but to be fair, lets compare only the years that the NEW KING was available. I think you will find the NEW KING has far surpassed the H&H in new rifle sales.
Surely you don't expect the sales of $1000 ruger to be less than a H&H rifle?![]()
Of course not
Compare all the new rifle sales of .375 H&H (regardless of manufacturer) to .375 Ruger sales, in the time the .375 Ruger has been available.
The new rifle sales of 375 Ruger surpasses the new rifles sold that are chambered in .375 H&H (or any other .375 caliber cartridge for that matter)
Well of course it does, it's new! Let's wait 5-10 years for all the people who want the novelty of a "new" 375 to get one,(find out it's not the greatest thing since sliced bread), and see how many rifles are sold in a normal year. My guess, with the market flooded with slightly used 375 rugers that people don't really want anymore, they won't even be in a yearly production run.
Keep in mind that this thread was started because other mainstream manufacturers other than Ruger announced plans to begin producing rifles chambered in the NEW KING. That alone is more validation than any SAUM, RUM or WSSM got.
actually son, you used to be able to purchase SAUM rifles in Ruger m77 & Savage models, and Ultra Mags in Savage, Sako, and maybe even Browning Abolt? WSSM only was in Abolt/M70

I doubt it. I think it will be more like the 300WSM. Everyone predicted it's death, too. I recall man on CGN saying "300WSM? Better stock up on brass, since you won't be able to get ammo for it in 5 years" Now it's almost a decade later and you can buy 300WSM ammo in Canadian TIre![]()
You are assuming they will find it's not the greatest thing since sliced bread...
They also assumed the 300WSM would wither and die....![]()
Not likely. 90% of hunters can't handle and dislike the recoil and it's really not needed for anything in North America. The 300 WSM is far more versatile.
The 375 H&H was/is available in cheap rifles as the 375 Ruger is now. The recoil kept 99% of hunters away from it.
Most hunters on this continent have no need for a heavy recoiling gun with the trajectory of a 30/06. A short lived fad is all.
