I never said the 185TTSX was a 500y bullet200gr Accubond would get there (1800 fps @ 500y), 225gr Accubond the same. 210gr Scirocco..215gr Sierra GameKing BTSP, 225gr SST
A TTSX might open fully at 1800 fps, more so than a TSX due to the point acting like a wedge. I have a box of 185gr TTSX here, and should have some 200gr Accubonds by the time the gun gets back from the smith. Nosler does claim 1800 fps for expansion with the Accubond and I believe them.
Cool!
I did not know that about the Accubond.
It is my fav in my light 338Edge...To bad I can't get any!![]()
I got all excited when I read .358 Winchester Improved...![]()
to better exploit the long range capability of the 358 Win Improved, I ordered a Vx3 2.5-8x36mm Boone & Crockett and three boxes of 200gr Accubonds. Can't wait to get shooting!
I have Winchester mod 88 in 358 Win in Boyds laminate stock and it is a perfect rifle for my kind of hunting, nothing needs to be improved. With caseful of TAC and 200gr Rem CL bullet I am getting 2600fps out of 20" barrel and close to 1" groups at 100m. While bush hunting, the second magazine filled with 250gr Spears GS gives me the peace of mind. Why should I "improve" the proven champion?
I'm so lost... How did a neutered .338 suddenly get bumped up in size and is supposedly competing with the 358's? Did I miss something?
