Ha, nice. It is the current (growing daily) inventory.

I plan on taking some pictures later this week. Next on the list is the Bond Arms Snake Slayer.

I've got a feeling that the Savage target rifle Im buying is going to provide me with more amusment thant the shotgun (expecially conisdering the package costs ~5 times more than the shotgun)

Congrats 3 strokes! 44 days now and my status still says, the initial processing has completed ...... Hopefully this week it changes seeing how it will be 45 days tomorrow and the disclaimer when I check my status says an accurately completed application takes 45 days to process.

Thanks.
Mind you, they put in the 45 days, like some mail (email) order suppliers say 4 to 6 weeks for delivery (and you get your merchandise much sooner.) From what I've seen (on CGN) it's the minimum 28 days that is a real minimum timeline.

Today the status changed to "Your application has been processed and your licence has been issued. If you have not received your licence within 2 weeks please contact the Canada Firearms Centre Toll Free number. (1-800 731-4000)" yesterday was the 28th day.

Getting my stamped test results back actually took longer than my license application. now i just have to find a good club and make a final decision on my first gun.

I mailed in my app on Nov 17th, they received it on Nov 23rd, and today it says it's being processed.

I've already decided which gun club I'm going to join when I get my PAL (PINECREST), and I already know which guns I'm going to get ( I'm going to have my late fathers handguns transfered to me (1903 colt 380 pocket gun and a mauser C96 broomhandle)).

Now I can call them tomorrow and see if there are any questions or missing items regarding my app.

Did you include your test results? If so how long did it take to recieve them?

Yes, I included them with the PAL app. I took the 2 day course at the local firearms school Sept 18th and 19th, and I got the stamped tests back from the cfo on Nov 17.

Fortunately my mail showed up earlier than normal that day , so I was able to fill out the PAL app and mail it out the same day.

Right now, I can't wait to get my PAL, have the guns transfered to me, join the club, get my att, and be the third owner of these guns in the family, and the first one to shoot them since the end of WWI.

Good to know re CFO Ontario

I received this from CFO Ontario when I asked them if it was Miramichi who mailed the PALs or if the PALs were sent to the CFO for one final approval.

Here's what they said:

The Central Processing Site (CPS) in Miramichi, NB, prints and mails the licence directly to the client. The only time the licence comes to the CFO is if the Firearms Officer has placed custom conditions on the licence. In those instances, the Firearms Officer wants to discuss the conditions to the client and personally deliver the licence to the client so that there is no question about what the conditions mean and why they are on the licence. Therefore, if the two weeks has already passed, I suggest that you contact CPS directly as we have no control on the printing or mailing of the documents.

The application number is not the same as the licence number. Your PAL # ######xx. It was approved on November 29th, 2010.

You can order the firearm without physically showing your licence to the dealer. However, some of the businesses have policies that without a copy of the licence, they will not initiate a transfer for liability reasons.

Thanks for posting that 3strokes. Nice to see that Ont. CFO will give out the licence numbers prior to your receipt of the PAL card.
I wouldn't pay any attention to the "special conditions" part of the message.
My guess is that if your licence was approved on Nov. 29 (a Monday) your licence gets printed and mailed tomorrow (a Friday) and you get it in the mail next week.

That must be an awesome feeling (knowing that two family generations before you had those firearms and that they saw "action" in WWI).
Hope you get to do it soon.

Now. The question: Do you shoot like a wizard or a voodoo witchdoctor?

Yeah. It is nice to know that she sent me my PAL number without me having asked for it. I was prepared to wait.
But now, as per CFO's last paragraph, I have emailed my first Dealer, who had placed my Heritage Rough Rider on hold, that he can start the Transfer and Registration. Once I have my PAL in hand, he'll start the shipping and I'll start the ST-ATT request.
CFO had signified, in writing, that the package could be shipped to me at my place of work (a Travel Agency inside a Shopping Mall) and they would issue me with a ST-ATT to cover several days for delivery.......

With the numbers I have, PAL number and expiration, I can even have my club start the LT-ATT (but only after the handgun is actually registered).
The club's advice: Purchase and have a firearm registered to you first. That will be the reason why you need an ATT (for target practice at all official ranges in Ontario).

My club has three-year periods for LT-ATT validities.
So the ATT I get expires either on my PAL's expiration date or the club's period ending (presently it is at end of August 2012, if memory serves, after that it's August 2015, etc...), whichever comes first.

I had my interviews completed Oct.24 and my online status still says completed intial processing.... I called today and they told me my application was sent to Orillia for the final stages. 46 days now. Don't understand, what's the hold up for them to issue my license? Anything else I can do to give them a little push?
