My hundai pony took months of abuse and I mean abuse but my newer dodge pickups tranny lasted about 17 minutes of hard driving, my honda civic threw a rod through the block in 3 weeks or medium hard driving. Hell, I bougt a brand new Sony DVD player that didn't work, should I have bought an equinox from zellars instead?

Make sure you wiggle the barrel as you tighten the barrel retaining bolt. That will ensure it reaches the deepest part or the recess and won't be able to come loose. Clean every bolt and hole in the gun with brake clean before putting on locktite, it won't adhere to oilly threads but it's impervious once assembled. Locktite blue is all you need, red can be used on the ejector bolts If you want but I wouldn't anywhere else. Those are the only 2 hex bolts, red is almost permanent but not quite, but the bond is too much for small Allen wrenches and strips them more often than not, but those 2 bolt in particular take a beating so i'd use red there.

It would be even nicer if we didn't have to read your nonsense in practically every XCR thread.

It is actually possible to own more than one rifle as well. Don't worry yourself with how others spend their money.

I swear if somebody started a thread that said XCR and that was all it said the thread would turn out exactly like this one and some of the others I have read. Brutal.

:jerkit:

It's the XCR owners themselves that post these threads.... hmm go figure.

I wouldn't have to slag the XCR if every thread on this board wasn't about some failure, or how the owners a douche, or how CS blows. I guess I just can't help myself...

So sorry to interrupt

CANADA hand one of the best rifels of all times it was the fnc1 I know I was in the CANADIAN FORCES when they switched to the pea shooter ar and everyone was pissed CANADA only purchased it because it fired a nato 223 round or as we call it super .22 US soldiers hated the m16 in veitnam it was inadequate and still is today for most combat operations that is why the US has been toying with the idea of replacing the ar and its not going to stop. the XCR is a great rifel its unrestricted and has multi cal options that for a hunter is the best part, one rifel for all needs I own the newer model of the XCR and have had no problems with it in the least and like I said no screws have ever came lose or fell out.It seems weird that people that have never owned one have so much bad to say about the XCR way long before ROB ARMS artical that offended all the ar guys that would never buy one but would rather play with a ristricted super .22 at the range what a joke!

Yeah.

I wasn't even going to respond to this, but I felt obliged. The .223/5.56 cartridge works just fine for killing bad guys. Period. Full stop.

I won't touch on the applications for animal hunting, as I don't have experience with that.

I challenge you to find one post/thread by me that is slagging or negative towards mine or anyone else's XCR-L...

It is my favorite rifle right now and probably will be for a long time.

Here is one negative... "I would like the XCR-L to be available in a wider selection of cartridges and would like a 458 SOCOM to be available"...

Shucks...

:p

There is no issue with the 223. As I said, this is internet fodder for debate but not an issue with troops actually doing the fighting and carrying the AR/5.56 into harms way...don't you think that says it all? Not an issue for the troops in combat...issue for people in Canada on the internet.....just a thought...

Morph has lived it, done it. Awhile back I sent him a message and he was replying from somewhere very sandy, and moderately unfriendly; take his word for it.

Not that I'm saying there is anything wrong with the AR platform (other than the restricted designation) but I don't think present day the troops have had anything to compare it to where the older ones who used the FN and made the transition had something to compare the AR against.

Good paraphrase and I actually wanted an XCRbut not if that's the attitude and service RA gives. I know there are a few a-holes out there who cause customer service ppl issues but get used to it. It happens at every store. I will never buy one now knowing their policies.

Agree 100% what a terrible attitude. I also have lost any interest in this rifle, there are plenty of other fine firearms out there!

Posts like those last ones are such good humour...

Judging a firearms from a letter written by someone that you will never deal with...

:p

Dumping a gun because of internet opinions is just hilarious...anybody can write anything and pretend it come from someone..all this is BS.

Fix it and go shoot it. End of the story ! :)

Nail polish is a little weaker than blue locktite, it'll keep screws from backing all the way out but won't keep them from coming loose. They are probably reccomending it because socket heads/Allen wrenches strip easily. Get a good set of Allen wrenches and use blue on socket heads, red on the two hex head ejector bolts. It'll only come apart when you want it to.... Period.
