Petite female friend looking to buy a pistol...now with pic of size

I'm a bit surprised to see such concern and stereotyping about races and interracial relationships here in Canada. We spent some time in the bible belt of the American south (Jax FL), and frankly moved back here many years ago to get away from such mentality. I guess the good thing is that we feared for our lives there because of a couple incidents due to our mixed races, and that was what got us introduced to handguns to begin with.

You don't have to justify or defend why you married whom 20 years ago, why should I?

Frankly I think you're both out of line and need to get out shooting more at the range and stop worrying about other people.

Edit: You're also confirming a negative stereotype that some people have toward gun owners, hunters, and sport shooters. Many folk already have some suspicion that we are a bunch of racist redneck wackos because of the way media portray us sometimes. This is not who we are as a group here IMO. There's just a few bad eggs that need to be straightened out. Unfortunately, those bad eggs stand out the most predominantly.

baaah, they just jealous they settled for a whitey :D
I on the other hand was compelled to marry within my own colour scheme. in the posted picture, she's the one point hte gun at the camera.

I bought a Steyr M9 , for me but also for something that would fit my girlfriends super tiny hands better than a Beretta 92. Works great, awesome pistol for both of us.

I have noticed all the comments are about automatics. Now I wonder about the intended use of the gun. Target shooting or self defence? There are lots of .38 calibre revolvers and now some .32 mag revolvers that would work as well and have small frames. Certainly the auto's have more magazine capacity, but if you can't do it with six, the odds are those three extra rounds are not going to help either. Unless you carry an automatic cocked and locked, it's not ready for instant action, while a revolver is always ready. Pull the trigger and you get BANG, If that doesn't happen, pull the trigger again. No clearing drill to worry about.

So how many others just checked their hands? I have normal sized one, the guy how taught my course must have been the largest hand man out there then because I found all of his handguns were way too large for me cept the Revolvers.

if you can find a single stack 1911 in 9mm. it might be alright.

I have small hands and a single stack 1911 in .45 auto is a great fit.

single stack 1911 in 9mm. haha that exactly what popped into my head. I have seen many petite women shooting them. or if you like to be alternative, try a tangfolio. I have seen lots of women with them.

Update, I'm proxying a transfer for an SW MP9 bought from EE, thanks to a CGN mbr
When I say tiny, I meant tiny

Hey thats the range by the scale on the way to Parksville. That is one of my favorite ranges in Western Canada. I visit it every time I go there.

There used to be a great fellow named John that hangs around the range quite a bit. Always excited about guns (O boy O boy thats a nice gun!)and was willing to share his with anyone. Is he still around there?

The Sig P225 we use for the boarding party have pretty dainty grips, single stack 9mm. I don't know if the 225 is readily available as the bbls are a tad short, but there might be a civilian version.

I did try out a Sprg XD in 9mm, that was pretty slim gripped too, but not single stack.

tho she has not held the 225m the 226 was too fat. if 225 was within her price point that would of been a choice,

i have a cz sp01 really small in the grip and super cheap for the money. they take the cz 75 mags and the sights are nice on them. my 2 cent

Not going to read the entire thread to see if it's been reccomended yet, but if it has I'm sorry.

I'd say either:

A 1911 in 9MM
Or a Glock 19 with a restricted barrel (Looks goofy with the barrel sticking out, but it sure is smaller).

I have pretty big hands so I'm not sure how good these reccomendations are, but I hope they're alright.

Good luck!
