Just for curosity sake how many SL-8's are in Canada?

Hi!

I own a SL8 with a AR magwell. I have buy the gun used and it have come with the MagWell also.

But I often got a problem when I insert a mag in the gun. The first cartridge get half ejected and jam the bolt. I have to be very careful and I'm tire of that! Did you have the same problem with your NEA AR magwell adaptor?

I have try to find the origin of the magwell but I can't find it. It did not look like the NEA one or the old style one. The release button is pretty similar to the NEA one but the MagWell is ticker and flat. Is there a third version of the magwell???

Doesnt sound like ours. Ours are slim and fit flush with the rifle. Ours are in use with Mil/LEO in both Europe and the U.S. I have seen them run on full auto flawlessly.

Maybe I should buy a new one... I can't post picture now because my personal computer is down... I have wait until the computer shop will return it to me in few days. At job security policies did not allow me to attach a file.

Finaly I have find old a photo of my SL8 (already post on imagevenue...). It's not a close up of the magwell but you can see it. The release buton wasn't paint and it's badly finish.

That is not NEA.

Curious about converting an SL8-4. According to this - http://www.canadiangunnutz.com/forum/showpost.php?p=2849852&postcount=74 - The SL8-4 accepts double stack mags. Does this mean that milling out the tabs in the magwell isn't necessary?

To use G36 magazines it is (not sure about AR15 magazines since they are thinner)

The SL8 Magazines have the corners relieved so they will fit into the SL8 properly.

Ah, so the tabs are still there, it's just the magazines that are different.

Ah, so the tabs are still there, it's just the magazines that are different.

The magwell on the SL8-4 and G36 are the same size. The receiver on the SL8 is where tabs are. So an SL8 mag will work in a G36. The US version has the entire magwell and receiver indented plus has the tab.

id agree. i was thinking it may have been a 'top-notch-parts' magwell you were talking about, but its not... from what i can tell from the photo.

All barrels are interchangable. Only the piston and piston rod are barrel specific
