As per request:
They're big game, just not BIG game
Both taken with a 30-378. The Micro buck at 60yds (quite the test I know) and the Elk at around 200yds
That's my luck, I pack around an 11# 4ft long beast of a gun to kill game at 30-30 distancesBoth kills were pretty decisive though.

Good post and great photos. Thanks for sharing

Anyway, you can go for what you 'want' in a big game rifle, and it's "quality level" but the bottem line or end result required is the animal down, quickly!!
For me, picking a rifle, going for decent & reliable within financial reason choice, Winchester, Ruger and Savage come to mind for NA manufacturers. As I see it, a step above and with more of a European slant, first and foremost, Schultz & Larsen. Followed closely by Husqvarna and Sako. If you've got access to big bucks, the choices are limitless, one of which I've already made mentioned of is Westley Richards. The big question, as I see it is, where do you draw the line?? Some seem to think, those choices at the ;ower dollar end of the scale are 'cheap s**t'. Those above, "good stuff"but those on the top end, "You don't need to go to those lengths". Again, where do you draw the line in the sand so to speak?
