pretty much. i prefer savage to kimber and sako thats my opinion.

HAHAHAHHAHAHHAHAHA!

Are you serious?!?!?!

That's like preferring a KIA over a Mercedes Benz....

HAHHAHAHHAHAHHAA

O.K. you win. Your Savage's are alot better or just as good as higher price firearms. I guess the quality of materials, fit and finish, balance, accuracy, smooth glass action of a Savage equals the quality of a Sako, etc. I guess you will have to paint by numbers to explain to me why the Savages are a better quality firearm or a great quailty firearm, because I cannot see the difference. Please do explain?

When you stated that you never owned one or even shot one, you showed me your opinion is garbage. You have yet to come up with any facts as to savages lack of accuracy or reliability. And im not cutting down sako or cooper cause i have never owned one and I would be ignorant and stupid to be bashing something i have no experience with. So like I said, COME UP WITH SOME FACTS, cause "i held one in a store once" doesn't mean a lot

If you were gifted a Savage and a Cooper rifle but had only one choice, which one would you choose?

I would take the cooper of course. Then sell it to someone looking for a male ##### enhancer and buy 3 savages that will be just as reliable and shoot just as well.:)

I guess that you can't read between the lines. Quality of material, fit and finish, balance, crisp trigger pull, smooth action, guaranted accuracy, etc. These are the qualities that higher priced firearms have over Savage. This is the third time I mentioned this...........get it?

Getting back on track to the op`s original post, i can`t talk you into a Salvage opps Savage as idon`t own one anymore. But as i have recomended to many guys if it fits and your happy that is all that matters. By the way i`d take the Copper as well, sell it and buy one Tikka a good scope and some fine drinking liquor.:D

Ya I get it. I get that you dont know a thing about savage because you have never used one. Where as I have 8 of them. My actions all work smooth, quality of material must be fine because i have had no issues with them, I can personally guarantee the accuracy of all of them. They are all balanced fine to my liking aside from the 26" heavy barrelledd one. triggers are fine on all of them, especially the accutrigger ones. And if I wanted a fancier finish i would go with the 114 american classic. But I could care less about a fancy stock and the high "priced" (not quality) guns. I dont have to pay 3 or four times as much so I can have bragging rights and cut down other peoples stuff. I go out and get the job done with the equipment i prefer and laugh at those who think they are superior cause they paid more for thiers.

Who said they are superior and bragging ? I haven't. Didn't mention what firearms I own. Just stated that there are better quality firearms than Savage. In laymens language, Savages are junk and always will be. So sad that you feel inferior to people who think that Savages are of poor quality. I guess that if you can't afford a $3,000.00 to $4,000.00 firearm don't blame me, it's not my fault.

I could afford one if i really wanted one but i dont have to overpay for crap to brag about "how much money I spent...therefore its better. And Dont worry...you are the last person on earth i would ever feel inferior to. Ignorant, big spender, braggers make me laugh.

Some people look at a Savage, and go "How can they be so cheap!?" and decide its because they're badly made or full of shoddy components. After all, there has to be an explanation or they would be a lot more expensive. Then another person comes along and shoots one and goes "How can they be so cheap!?" and are amazed at the accuracy and value per dollar.

Some people buy an expensive hand made mechanical watch, because they want to buy into the prestige. They want people to notice it and ask about it and where they got it from. They'll be ready to tell them about its quality components crafted from nearly unobtainable materials from parts unknown. They'll talk about the meticulous engineering and special movement, and with a wink and a nudge they'll talk about just how much it cost them.

Then other people buy a digital watch, because they want to tell time.

Savages are the digital watch of the gun world. Reliable, accurate, and cheap. No frills, but also no prestige in owning one other than knowing you got a good deal. Its the everyman gun.

Of course if prestige is what you were after, wanting to show people you aren't just an everyman gun owner, you never would have looked at one in the first place.

Very well said sir

Name calling and inferiority won't earn you brownie points........somewhat childish. What guns do I own to make your Savages and yourself inferior? All I mentioned is that Savages are low quality and that makes you upset. Obviously your oblivious on judgement of qualilty firearms, therefore; you are forgiven. Google "Fine Firearms" and see if Savage comes-up. Purchase a text book on fine firearms and you will know what I'm talking about. There is an art to building/manufacturing a good quality firearm and not just pumping them out on an assembly line. Once you know this, then we can talk.:D:D

I see some great deals on Savage Axis and 111 combo rifles. I have never owned a Savage, but at those prices I am tempted. Probably be a 22-250 or a 7-08. I have always thought of Savage as a second rate gun, no real reason to back it up. Please try to convince me that I should have one in the rack.

Before you buy, check out the savage shooters forum.
If the tales of woe in the axis forum fail to make an impression on you nothing will.:slap:

One of the poor bastids is from SK.;)

I never classed them as a "fine firearm". Although i was looking for personal experiences backing your statement that they are "junk". And you have made it clear that you have none. And I asked for examples of how your "fine firearms" would get the job done any better in a real world hunting situation. Your best argument was filet minion is better than balogna. And that wasn't name calling so much as just describing your qualities...my appolagies :D

OK, so I got in on the Axis package deal and got a stainless in 22-250. Got out today to do some shooting. Took five shots to sight it in and then my young nephew shot this group at 100yds. Everything stock out of the box. Every bit as good as my Tikka. I see more Savages in my future.

I think just like anything else there is a difference in what everyone calls a fine firearm. thats what is happening here. To some it has to be handcrafted masterpiece that is closer to a one off. To another person a fine firearm is something that will just work looks dont mater as much as function. Same thing when ppl buy a care. Some want the top of the line bentley while others are happy with a ford focus. I think we all will just have to agree to disagree on this

Ahhh, I see, so Savage is the "Rifleman's Rifle" of the 21st Century. I better get rid of my Kimbers,Winchesters and Remingtons so I don't come across as a snob.

So do tell, if they are of the same quality, why are they so cheap? Does Savage make less profit per firearm? Not likely.
